BOOYAKASHA!

Waiting for 247 Sports and Rivals to update their recruit list so I can see if this bumps us up a ranking spot on either service. I think it might not, as its just one recruit, but it's always cool to check.

Now the question is who will from Oklahoma see the playing field first between Houston or Jamie Nance?

Don’t get to carry away with just one more commit when rivals only ranks the First 20..

There's a chance that Myles Farmer will end up being that speed rusher.

Personally, I think we could have used another true cornerback in this class. All the DBs we signed seem to project more as safeties.
The good news about corner is it's a position where you can play very early if you're good. So I don't love that they didn't sign another nice CB but if they go out and hit a couple home runs next year you could be talking about guys who come in and hit the 2-deep right away.

It's not like OL/DL where they need a couple years just to transform their bodies to be able to compete at a D1 level.

Could be looking back 2 years from now thanking Oklahoma's class for our success. Them getting 3 5 star guys allowed us to get Houston and Nance. They would of definitely got one/both of these speedsters in a normal year.

I've mentioned several times over the last few months that he wouldn't qualify, but some people didn't want to believe .
Quietly has a shot to qualify in the spring...he can retake classes and quickly raise his GPA. Will we take him in the summer? I think so

Bland never took an official visit here and it sounds like he hasn't heard from our coaches in months. So I'll be very surprised if he ends up here.

The coaches had planned on him graduating in December and enrolling this spring, and when that didn't happen, I think they moved on.

If you take Bland out of the class (add Anderson at 5.6 RR) our ranking would drop from 15th to 16th, sitting at 2150 points. Tennessee currently sits at 17th, 2099 points with 20 commits.

NPG is starting at corner and at his size that's a better spot at least for now. Munson said again on the radio this morning that NPG is only about 170 not the 180 he's listed at. With is athleticism he can definitely play corner

Yeah, I know, but often one doesn't know these things until the day of. Or even later, in this case. I'm gonna go ahead and assume we don't take him; some of the official words on the matter from the sports writers are now that Cam Jurgens has moved to center, we have slightly less need there.

Also, grades. Also, we'll be fine.

On the other hand there could be kids that don't make it to campus for other teams as well. The end ranking is really not an exact science. I like this class a bunch. I think it has some real difference makers potentially on both sides of the ball. Something we've been lacking. Guys who can and will step up and make plays that win you games. Lots of beef too.

Been mentioned before, but if we have higher success rate with classes (particularly highest rated recruits), it will make a big difference on the field.

You know what... please post where you got that information from. Until I see it reported from a legit news source, your info can from a fat guy sitting on his couch. I have heard from no place other than this message board that the coaches haven't visited him, so unless there is factual evidence of that I will not use it to form my opinion.

Also you don't just move on from a player that can fill an immediate need.

Not that I can dispute any of the above info. I do take exception to the statement: 'you don't just move on from a player that can fill an immediate need.'

I think Bland is a big time talent. But he has so many question marks right now, I wouldn't be surprised if the staff moved on.

First off, his JUCO football program shut down. Who has he been working out with? If he arrives in June, what kind of shape will he be in? Will he be anywhere near playing shape physically? If not, then he cannot fill and immediate need.

Secondly, he had to go JUCO due to grades. He has struggled to graduate from JUCO due to grades (at least that is rumored). How is he going to stay qualified if he barely get through CC or HS? Will he be able to pick up the playbook if he arrives in June to be able to see the field?

Lastly, what is his work ethic? If he is is a big time prospect, alluded by his JUCO coach as a NFL level player, and he can't get through CC while in their football program? His whole future hangs on passing classes (in community college!) and he may not be able to do it. Or at best, may struggle to accomplish it.

Those seem like major red flags that would a lot of coaches move on.

You do when he isn't going to qualify

Yep^^^^^

A major football talent that NO school brought in for a visit (including Nebraska).
