Meh, you seem too be very negative. The worm is turning. What are your expectations for next season ?

I hope for his sake and the teams as well you are right. In my opinion, he is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle next year. He could be the best thing to happen to Washington. However, present a single piece of evidence he is turning things around. I can't tell you how many kids I have worked with who talked a good story but could not get over the hump. I hope the heck I am cautious for no reason .

I appreciate your reasoning, but I look at it from a different perspective. He turned himself in after a bench warrant, and I imagine he had a month where lawyers, coaches and investigators delved into his past and reached a conclusion.

I know the kid has a **** ton of talent. HC Frost is building his locker room. If he is good with a players character, so am I.

Wow-count me shocked, SHOCKED that you don't think much of him. I mean, this is so unlike you, you're usually so positive and upbeat about the team.

I mean seriously, you are as predictable as the sun rising and setting every day. You couldn't find a dang thing to be positive about if your life depended on it. You must think that is your reason for being-to be the chief doom and gloomer all the time.Your schtick is really, really getting old.

Ah come on red, you can do better than that. Turning himself in after a bench warrant isn't exactly turning things around. As I have said before, I trust the coaches, they know a lot more and his HC at Garden was a good reference but he was a bit gun shy when talking about his off field issues.

Thus far, the JC route has not been all that great. Bell made it four games and there didn't seem any tears shed when he left after going from heralded starter to losing his spot. To me, that says Frost and Co, won't be slow to set the ship right when it leans the wrong way. I am still waiting for an example of him turning. :)

Come on bro, how can any of us honestly give any examples?? Unless we live in that town and follow Garden City closely enough to know the players and everything they do. Your asking for an extreme answer and you very well know any answer you get is a guess. But it’s a two way door, all you have is what he did as an 18 year old that was NEVER MADE PUBLIC (from what I know) and a traffic thing, sorry but I’ll NEVER hold a traffic issue over someone’s head let alone make me think there a bad person or have issues. Time to be fair about it, none of us truly know. We can only trust Frost and that’s it.

My example is...Scott Frost allowed him to sign and feels confident in him. That’s good enough for me and should be good enough for any of us.

Full quote from his coach after he committed.

"On the field, it takes about two minutes to notice him," Sims said. "He's a guy that's going to show up at Nebraska and be different Day 1. He's the real deal. Off the field, he's just a young man who's learning and maturing, and he's special. You're all going to love to talk to him. He smiles every day, and all those things.“
Sounds to me like he's going to need a babysitter. Better give him a 300 lb walk on lineman for a room mate.

.He'll be pushing B1G linebackers to the side next year. He's not a game breaker.

Meh, I ask me next fall.

Whoa partner - get your horse under control. I am not the one who said he was turning things around - I just asked what that looked like. No answer. Now don't look now but he has been in two different colleges for a total of 2.5 years going on 3. I have no idea how long he was at GT. Still he doesn't have his AA degree. He was suspended for multiple drug test fails, driving on suspended license - oh and I don't think you get those for parking tickets - so it is more than "a" traffic issue. He was driving on a suspended license in two states and failed to appear, two times from all reports. He won't be getting his merit badge in judicial awareness any time soon.

I am not looking for a bunch of altar boys for players but know he comes with admitted baggage the coaches are aware of but let's not pretend it doesn't exist because THAT is what will get you in trouble. I hope he is the guy that Frost can boast about being a model citizen, teammate and all B1G player. That's how you shut people up but it rarely happens.

Do you not remember some of the gangsters and thugs TO had on his teams? I'm not advocating for that but man some of these guys don't exactly come from the best situations. IF Frost thinks he's manageable then so be it.

So is he here for the spring then?

Interesting that John Bivens is visiting this weekend. I can't believe we'd take another RB when we only have a few spots left and more pressing needs on defense.
It's NO accident. The coaches timed it that way so Bivens would be scheduled to visit after they knew the status of Mills. Otherwise they just would have let Bivens visit earlier.

People that set set themselves as a judge to another mans character it is important to question their qualifications.
He should ask me about myself and my past. I've read his posts, and I don't like him. I will admit when I'm wrong. He will not.

Oh yes, I remember them and knew players and GF's of players. Some if the stories were darn right scary. It was a different time, no social media, no metoo, men weren't targets in that social media and there wasn't a video coming out once a month about a beating. Some of the stuff that happened didn't even become public until much later. Now people seem to know what everyone was thinking.

You're a douchebag. Mills missed a traffic court and you question his character?

He will be a very good player for us in 2019. I'm gonna tag you often.
We don't know what type of traffic infraction Mills originally committed. It could have been a DUI. That's a litte bigger deal but his decision making hasn't been great. I suspect he'll be fine at NU though.

OK, I am done here. I didn't call you a single name nor do intend to. Tell me where I misstated any information. I asked for facts and received none. I am not judging his character but with all of us our actions are our judge. I have gone to bat for many a young man giving multiple chances and some I have lived to regret. Call me all the names you want, if that helps you defend your position or feel better. I will not return the same. Have a blessed night sir.

Happy as hell the kid signed but not sold that he’s the guy who will split carries with Mo Washington next year. Seems like every time we sign a Juco back he’s the next great Husker back. All these great things I hear about this Kid, I herd about Greg Bell, Kenny Wilson, and thunder Collins.

Maybe I’ve been burnt but I’m just not sure Juco RBs usually work out. Hell have we had a Juco RB work out since Rozier? The fact that Mills has ball security issues worries me a ton, and I strongly believe a RB has to have great chemistry with his O-line and that’s just something we won’t know until he gets here.

I’m sure we will see some video of some ridiculous run he has in fall practice and people will have him penciled in for all B1G team but I give him just as much chance now as playing as I give Bradley, Mazour, or any incoming freshman. Again, I’m super happy he signed. We need the depth and needed to add an upperclassman. Just not going to lose my mind if he gets beat out by someone else.

He was a beast down at GT as a true freshman so I give him the benefit of the doubt. I’m generally not sold on juco backs either but he’s got some decent FBS experience.

I don't believe you have ever went to bat for a young man that was born from a less certain position than you, yourself, would approve of. I've read your words. They are your thoughts and are controlled by your own ideas that you assume are acceptable for consumption by an audience of your peers.

I’m more concerned about how he got to the JUCO. His frosh productivity at GT provides evidence of P5 bona fides. He may or may not be All-B1G caliber, but please refrain from comparing him to a kid who played cleanup and another who couldnt make it on the field last year. From reading comments about him, he seems like a good kid who made (makes?) dumb decisions. Hell, I got brought into traffic court on an outstanding ticket (tooling around Lincoln on my friends Honda without a license).
Kid brings a bigger back presence to the room.

Well, to be fair, anyone following the recruiting of Mills knows that for some reason he was dismissed from GT. He's also missed two court appearences for traffic infractions with one of them was driving on suspended license. I know Tru knows this info and that's what he is referring to and you say he has no facts.

I don't know him personally, but according to what Tru has said, he's been an educator for many years working with high school kids and coaching. You tend to see and hear it all in this profession.

I don't always see eye to eye with what Tru says. I don't see eye to eye with every poster on here. That's how you learn. Listen. This is a discussion board. A place to discuss. Sometimes you agree to disagree. But one should never be so thin skinned that they tell people on a discussion board, if they have a different point of view, to "STFU". Everyone's opinions are important here and everyone has the right to express them here. I know that a keyboard makes people brave, but I hope you wouldn't tell someone you were listening to in a lecture or a business meeting to "STFU". One shouldn't say on here what you wouldn't say to someone talking to you face to face. Enough of the lecture.

Tru doesn't need me talking for him, he's abiga boy. Let's discuss Husker football. GBR

Yeah...I get what you are saying but...who cares?
Do you really care that he doesn't have his Associates Degree (Assuming he gets into NU, who cares when he earns it)

Do you really care that he had a suspended license or that he smoked weed?

I all care about is that he is good on the field. My guess is that in 10 years he will be like most people...a pretty decent person.

Thank goodness some of us didn't get caught or fully penalized for some of the stupid stunts we pulled in college. I know some guys who could have done jail time for stupid stuff who now have been bank, church and school board presidents.

I don't think anyone on here wants him to fail. People make mistakes. Some more stupid than others. We're all human. Hopefully we can learn from our mistakes, move on and be a better person for it. Let he who is without sin, throw the first stone.

Mills has had several opportunities, has unbelievable talent, and up to this point it's debateable that hes grasped the fact that actions have consequences. Now he is being given a third chance. This is huge. Let's hope for his sake, that he gets it. If he does, he will be a very rich man someday. Junior Miller was finally motivated by the realization that he could be a very rich man. He didn't have legal issues, just needed work ethic motivation.
