So is he here for the spring then?

Interesting that John Bivens is visiting this weekend. I can't believe we'd take another RB when we only have a few spots left and more pressing needs on defense.

https://journalstar.com/sports/husk...cle_b4b61ed6-e7ba-5f8d-ad46-f6adbc73ff9a.html But the Huskers worked through that situation and assessed the remaining academic work Mills needs to complete -- he will not be on campus this spring and instead will join NU in the summer as long as he wraps up his work at Garden City -- and felt comfortable signing him. The Huskers have an upper limit of 30 for the 2019 class, so they can take up to five more between now and the beginning of next season. They still have one verbal commitment in juco offensive lineman Desmond Bland (Arizona Western) and could save a scholarship for a graduate transfer further into the offseason -- say, after spring ball is concluded in April -- so look for NU to sign anywhere between three and five players on Feb. 6.

Still hard to trust this one. I’ll wait until August, then I’ll be fired up if he’s in Lincoln.

Normally I’d say I’m with you there but this time I disagree. He’s signed and got the go ahead from Frost and Co. I do not see them saying “Go ahead and sign” if there was any chance he wouldn’t make it or at least from what they see, know or hear.

I am excited yet cautious about him. Really wanted him and want him to mature and become a responsible adult.

This can be one of those true success stories of a young man getting his act together.

Welcome aboard. You have your ticket, now don't miss your boarding time. Guess"ticket" wasn't a good choice.

That he will. As a true freshman at G Tech he was what, 200-300 shy from being a 1,000 rusher. That’s D1 football in the ACC. So he’s definitely proven. Like a few stated, hopefully he’s got his head on right and then rest SHOULD fall into place for him.

I know it is coach speak but coach Simms says he is the real deal.

Wasn't he a freshman All American at Georgia Tech?

I’d have to assume he was, being a 700-800 plus rusher as a T freshman in D1 football is no small task.

I watched a bunch of videos of this kid, and I'm pumped that he's gonna be on our team. I hope he matures and takes advantage of this opportunity. He will be very good if he does.

There did seem like Mills making it to Lincoln was problematic and of course, nothing is a lock when it comes to kids his age. But between early signing day and now, I wanted to convince myself that Mills not signing wasn't a big deal, but couldn't get there. I think the kid will be a really nice piece to NU's rushing attack over the next couple of years.

I think Bivens' visit was scheduled on the 19th for a reason and that was as a backup plan if Mills didn't sign. My guess is that Bivens does not take a visit on Saturday. But if he does, then that must mean that they are very high on Bivens.

I'm not gonna lie. I was thinking Mills was exactly what we needed in the B1G. I was like damn. He has some growing to do, but based on HC Frost allowing him to sign, well, I'm ecstatic.

Full quote from his coach after he committed.

"On the field, it takes about two minutes to notice him," Sims said. "He's a guy that's going to show up at Nebraska and be different Day 1. He's the real deal. Off the field, he's just a young man who's learning and maturing, and he's special. You're all going to love to talk to him. He smiles every day, and all those things.“

I am with you on this one crutch. To this point he has not shown the ability to get his ducks rowed up.

Meh, you seem too be very negative. The worm is turning. What are your expectations for next season ?
