I've seen all but two. No deprh my friend. Poor FT shooting. No way in hell they go 12-4 again. I also think Creighton would spank them again. Just my opinion brother.
Iowa, Rutgers, Penn St and Illinois are all not as difficult as Maryland..
I think that's may have been because he's got a bum ankle. I don't know if you've seen him up close but man he's a really skinny dude and Maryland has some thumpers. They weren't running plays for Copeland.
I said my opinion. Get over it..Who would spank who "again"? I think you're confused. We had a poor FT shooting game. We're not a poor FT shooting team.
So IF he goes 3-5 with 5 games against ranked teams "the wheels on the bus fall off"? Really? Maryland is a good team and their big man is a really bad matchup for us. Palmer didn't set the world on fire and Copeland didn't look 100%. I actually thought we played better with Borchardt in the game than with Cope tonight.
And it's my opinion you're confused. Get over it .I said my opinion. Get over it..
Take the last shot? Huskers were trailing 72-71 when Palmer went to the hoop and was fouled, and he made one of two to tie it. I don't see many teams play for the last shot when they are down by a point.Yea couldn't believe that, you take the last shot.
We need to start by consistently beating teams like Maryland at home and then beat them occasionally on the road. That formula this year will get us a decent seed in the NCAA. I don't think some of our fans realize how tough the B1G is this year. Yeah NU has good talent but overall just about everybody else in the league is better too. Win all the home games and then go from there. I'm not worrying about a road loss too much just yet. Big picture.I think so. This is his most talented team and if he can’t win with this, I just don’t think he can ever. And at 3-5 in January, that would either mean 1-4 against ranked teams or a bad loss or two. 1-4 against ranked teams would mean he can’t play with the big boys. Which is really what most people already believe, right?
And Maryland has one of the best big men in college basketball. He killed us on the boards. Maryland is in a hotbed of talent and Turgeon recruited very well this past go.we are supposed to have a veteran team that close these type of games out - especially playing against a bunch of freshman
Maryland players with >300 min played this year:
Jr-Fr-Fr-So-Fr-Fr
Nebraska players with >300 min played this year:
Sr-Sr-Sr-Jr-So
In the 100+ years of playing when have we ever been supposed to w/a veteran team or not? The examples are hard to findwe are supposed to have a veteran team that close these type of games out - especially playing against a bunch of freshman

One of the things all of the announcers and other experts keep talking about is our complete lack of depth. What happens when our seniors leave next year? Is next year to be another "rebuilding" year? I mean, does it really matter if we win a game in the tourney this year just to have to wait through the Tim Miles process again? Moos is a smart guy. I just hope he doesn't let one season of potential success dictate the next 5 years of Nebraska basketball.
I don't disagree that this is a big year for Miles, but this is going to be a very long season on this board IF every stinking time we lose a road game people get on here and lose their mind. It's just ludicrous. It's basketball. Good teams lose road games to teams that the should beat in every conference in America every week. Maryland was favored to win. They won in the last 4 seconds on a crappy shot. BTW, I didn't get to watch all of the second half, but it didn't help us that the Terps got more than a little home cookin from the refs in that first half.I’d agree with you if this were a new coach or a coach trying to rebuild. This is year 7 for Miles who is barely above .500 and has a terrible conference record. And let’s be honest, next year could be bad. I just believe Miles needs to pull a rabbit from a hat this year. He’s got the opportunity to turn heads.
And yes, the B1G is strong but in my opinion that’s a great way for Tim to prove he’s a good coach. If all he does is win the home games on this stretch, I’d be ok with it. It’d put them at 4-4 in January with wins over Sparta, tOSU, & Wisky.
I guess I don’t have a huge issue with running the 1-3-1 at the end(I probably wouldn’t have done it), but my issue is with extending it way out and leaving the middle of the floor wide open. Is a floater a shot you wouldn’t mind giving up? Probably, but he was wide open looking at that shot.

One small issue that killed Nebraska was missed free throws
Exactly right on the home cookin' Dingle. All a person can ask for is the game is called the same way on both ends of the court. That didn't happen last night. Example is a Maryland player drives to the basket which Nebraska had clogged up. Maryland player trips in traffic and NU gets called for the foul. I think it was the 1-2 NU possessions after that when Allen drives to the lane and gets tripped. No foul. Maryland was allowed to be physical, whereas Nebraska was not. We will not win too many close games when games are officiated that way.
What? Come on...
NU went to the line 23 times...MD went 14
NU had 17 fouls
MD had 17 fouls
I mean...if that is home cooking...I don't want to eat at home.
MD also had 3 more turnovers and 3 less steals.
This game was lost by NU because they can't rebound (28 vs 38) and they only made 65% of their FT's.
It’s more fun to blame the refs.

Agree that lack of rebounding and lower FT percentage were more of a factor in the loss (and did not defend the 3 as well as they have in prior games, as well), but inconsistency of how teams are allowed to play also contribute. As physical as Maryland played, I don't think NU made it to the bonus in the first half until at the very end. That is rare. Nebraska seemed to attack more in the 2nd half and drew more fouls. It wasn't entirely the officiating, but if it had been called a little more consistently than maybe it doesn't come down to the last second shot. Just because both teams ended up with the same number of fouls does not necessarily mean it was called the same. But, Nebraska still has to win more of these games.
So you are saying that even though the fouls were totally even and that NU went to line a lot more...that the refs were trying to favor MD?
I mean, I can live with that...I wish that MD would have scored more though since I bet them at -2.
Were they trying to favor MD? No. But, quite a few of the same types of fouls on the MD side were not always the same as the NU side of the court.
And the observation is not just against Nebraska. The other B1G games I've watched, and other conferences as well, fairly often end up in a similar fashion. Some games it seems pretty evenly called (and I realize it will never be perfect), other games not so much.
As one example, Maryland has a reputation for strong inside play, and they seem to be allowed to play more physically than other teams. Nebraska does not have the same reputation, so Nebraska is going to have to figure something out when they match up with similar teams.
The total number of fouls has absolutely nothing to do with how each team was allowed to play. Their big man consistently dipped his shoulder and banged our man back down under the basket with no call. The flip side was Glynn Watson getting called for an offensive foul after a guy jumped into his path on a drive. They were much more physical and the refs allowed it in the first half. I didn't see all of the second half so I can't comment on that one. As a guy who sometimes had to guard guys bigger than me on the block, it just pisses me off to see refs just let a guy bang his shoulder in to a defender for 4 or 5 dribbles then get a lay up. Roby standing in the lane has a driving guard jump in to him and fall down and they ring Roby up. Number of fouls total for each side means nothing. So you are saying that even though the fouls were totally even and that NU went to line a lot more...that the refs were trying to favor MD?

Didn't see the game, don't know exactly what caused the loss, but - somehow, some way you have got to be able to win some road games . . .
I'm not sure this team can . . .

So your saying NU won’t win a game on the road in conference the rest of the way..
I’ll take that bet..
I actually said "I'm not sure", but yeah, they're going to struggle . . .
