And it’s never Easy winning on the road in the B1G too.
We've already lost 2 conference road games we could've (maybe should've) won.
Nobody nationally is going to care one whit about us if we DON'T WIN ON THE ROAD!!!
And it’s never Easy winning on the road in the B1G too.
Sorry about doubling upI think I covered that a few times last night in this thread and it’ duly noted.. Along with giving their big team too may points in the paint..
Didn't see the game, don't know exactly what caused the loss, but - somehow, some way you have got to be able to win some road games . . .
I'm not sure this team can . . .
We'll beat Illinois and/or Rutgers on the road. Maybe Penn State. That's it for winnable road games.
The question is whether we can pull off wins at home against the upper-tier conference teams like MSU, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. We need to have some quality conference wins on our resume.
Penn St may be more difficult than Iowa. We can beat Iowa, just need to play defense like we did against Creighton on the road..
We'll see. Miles is 0-5 in road games against Iowa. I guess he was 0-6 too vs Creighton before this year, but big difference between home and road. Miles has a very sub-par record in road games against good teams in his career. And Iowa will be playing with a sense of urgency after starting conference play 0-3.
Not sure Iowa is a good team. The verdict is still out..
Nebraska hasn’t played Iowa every year on the road since Miles has been here either..but duly noted..
NebraskaBall is a few plays away from being a 1 loss team and ranked in the top 10. Provided they continue to grow and find bench depth, this team will win its first NCAA tournament game ever, maybe two ...
Happ continues to be a complete train wreck at the FT line, and it was good to see Nut Puncher Davison crap the bed down the stretch.Minnesota with a big win at Wisconsin 59-52.
I'm not a Miles fan by any stretch of the imagination, but what are the games he "should lose"?The simple fact is that this team is very talented, just not deep, but Miles teams historically lose games that they could & should win & rarely ever win games that they should lose. On top of all of that, they are a 20pt better team at home.= Coaching
Meltdown? Nope, they are happy, they want Fran gone.I wonder if the fans of Wisconsin are having a meltdown because their team lost to Minnesota AT HOME?! Or how about ranked Iowa losing on the road to unranked Purdue.
They must suck. Have choked. All that stuff.
I posted long before the season started that a VERY under appreciated guy that this team was going to miss was Evan Taylor. He gave us tremendous defense, good rebounding, and the occasional clutch shot and I wasn't sure we had the guy to replace him. I was hoping Nana could be that guy but so far he hasn't shown the consistency to me that Taylor did and we miss him. Losing Jordy while I know he had issues, eliminated a guy who could bang with teams like Maryland and Minnesota. Basketball is a team sport and this team has a gaping hole in the paint. IMO, Borchardt needs to play more minutes because every time I've gotten to see them play I believe we're better with him on the floor against physical teams. I liked the way we played with him and Roby playing together against Maryland. This is a team that won 22 games last year, finished 4th in the B1G, and returned every key player. They are highly skilled and one of the most experienced teams in the nation. The goal for this team SHOULD BE to challenge for the conference title, and to be playing the SECOND weekend of the NCAA tournament.

I wonder if this will start to happen more and more with Happ. I also wonder when he will graduate.Count me among those impressed with Borchart. To my untrained eye, he is an upgrade over Jordy. I forgot about Harris. Hopefully he gets back to full strength soon enough to contribute.
Side note, Miles should plan to use all 10 fouls allotted to Borchart and Heiman and just foul Happ anytime he gets the ball near the basket when we play Wisconsin.

NU won at Clemson this year. They blew out Michigan last year and won at Wisconsin. Two years ago, a pretty bad Nebraska team won at Maryland and at Indiana. NU also beat Michigan State on the road in 2016. Those really seem like games NU should lose, until they win them.
Feathers in Miles cap. There’s only so much time justified for underperformance with the facilities & fan support NU basketball has.
That sounds a lot like what people (including me) were saying right before Solich got fired. I honestly believe that the NU basketball job would attract good candidates if it were to open due to the factors you mentioned, but it's not like it's guaranteed that a new coach would be better. I'll bet Illinois fans thought it was a slam dunk to fire Weber and hire Groce. Again... I don't want to get hung up on the coach, I'm going to enjoy the fight in this team. Put this loss in the Crying Shame corner next to the Minnesota loss - golden opportunity what slipped away. Hope it doesn't get crowded in that corner. Don't think it will.
Prediction machines on Husker Big Ten record...
KenPom ... 14-6
ESPN ... 14-6
Warren Nolan ... 16-4
Wonder what will happen.
Me too but I can't get the bet down anywhere.I'll take under 14
