What the hell are they doing by shooting with 21 seconds left with no shot clock! That was asinine.

Take it down to 12 then run that play. But they should have got the rebound on defense and then they would have had the lead, the ball, and no shot clock!

Tough loss. Final play was actually very well designed. The MD guy just stuck with Roby but that could have easily been a wide open dunk by Roby. Road wins are tough to come by.
should have run him off a screen.

That wave of turnovers early in the second half was a momentum-killer, as were the missed FTs. Really shouldn't have come down to the final minute, but that stretch let Maryland back in it.

God I hate losing to Turgeon* - what a whiny, petulant douche.

*Derived from the root words "turd" and "dungeon."

Actually when you are down 1 (or more) you shoot early like we did. Tied you play it down. Going early is the correct call. Now I hated the zone defense on a final possession.
I agree but 21 was too early imho. If they had grabbed the defensive rebound they wouldn't have needed any points. Ifs and buts

I'm interested to see how these games go based on what we saw against Minnesota, specifically Murphy. Do we have an answer/gameplan for Fernando/Morgan/Cook?

This is cool, I've never quoted myself before! I asked this on Monday, and the early returns are not good. Even when we win it's going to be frustrating watching bigs brutalize us game in and game out.

I’m afraid this year is starting to look like 2018. Luckily, our Big Ten schedule should allow us to go dancing if we finish .500 in league play. But, with this group would should strive for more.

Unfortunately look at what we have left on the road. Could have certainly used this one when you look at the ones we have left. I don't see a road game Nebraska couldn't potentially find a way to lose.

Miles is a really good “Average” Coach. Nebraska doesn’t have a killer instinct. Reflects the coach. My prediction is we are a bubble team but will get in. Disappointing if I’m right, but I guess In is “in”. I was hoping for a 6th seed or better if they played to their potential. Unfortunately I knew Miles would choke this. Lotta season, I can still be proved wrong.

You made a valid point but Fernando has 6 turnovers too and Cook is a bigger turnover machine so we will see moving forward..

Yeah it's not that this loss or the one at Minnesota are fatal blows - but they are missed opportunities. Gotta cash in these second-half leads, on the road or not.

Iowa, Rutgers, Penn St and Illinois are all not as difficult as Maryland..

Yeah, it was pretty good. I would have had Palmer get the ball instead of Allen. One his size to get a pass off and two it would have attracted the D more and made it more likely Roby is open on the lob. The Terps guys stayed home on their guys because the likely hood you drew a basic full court penetration play for Allen was slim.

Everyone knows this game was a winnable road game. It doesn’t make it less easy to swallow, but the B1G is going to be a grind all year. Home games too.

I will say that Maryland’s two big guys are most likely NBA guys who made some really good plays - in particular the floater for the win.

Copeland was woefully quiet in this one. Is that on the coach? Maybe. But I can’t cry when a team loses a game they were underdogs in on the road. It is basketball. Happens.

I think its pretty easy to assume, Moose is not a fan of Miles. That extension was..... well, the least possible way of saying "you are STILL my coach."

One of the things all of the announcers and other experts keep talking about is our complete lack of depth. What happens when our seniors leave next year? Is next year to be another "rebuilding" year? I mean, does it really matter if we win a game in the tourney this year just to have to wait through the Tim Miles process again? Moos is a smart guy. I just hope he doesn't let one season of potential success dictate the next 5 years of Nebraska basketball.

I texted friends before the last play that I would be shocked if we even get a shot off and I expect a turnover. They have no offensive flow. Pass it around hope for a Palmer drive/foul or chuck up 3s. They are just painful to watch on the road

The month of January could decided Miles fate. 8 games and 5 are against ranked teams.

Winning record in this stretch and we have hope for him.

4-4 record and there will still be a lot of doubt but also still some sunshine pumpers

Losing record and the wheels on the bus fall off.

0-1 to start with and that was against one of the unranked teams. Got a lot of work to do Timmy

What is up with Copeland? Having a really good year but taking tonight off.
The jab in the eye really messed with him. I also had heard that he had an injury but I don't remember for sure what it was. High ankle sprain maybe?

Responing in general. This team is NOT good. They did alright last year in a weak BIG. Luck to be .500 in conference play this year..

I would have to disagree with you whole heartedly..
Not a good team, I take it you haven’t seen the majority of games they’ve played..

So IF he goes 3-5 with 5 games against ranked teams "the wheels on the bus fall off"? Really? Maryland is a good team and their big man is a really bad matchup for us. Palmer didn't set the world on fire and Copeland didn't look 100%. I actually thought we played better with Borchardt in the game than with Cope tonight.

We need more production out of Copeland like we have in the past if we want to finish in the top 4 in the conference..

They weren't running plays for Copeland.

I've seen all but two. No deprh my friend. Poor FT shooting. No way in hell they go 12-4 again. I also think Creighton would spank them again. Just my opinion brother.
