They can still go back to Nebraska if they don’t hire an agent, right?
Exactly, had Moos waited a few hours we couldve cleaned house and moved on.Andrew White did the same thing, and ended up transferring to Syracuse. I'll be surprised if both Palmer and Copeland are here next year.

Pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point. 'hang around until I know I'm safe than you can split' With the B1G trending upward next year and us without our top 2 players I have a real hard time seeing how 18-19 isn't Miles' last.Is timing on this announcement coincidental of Miles' extension?
If so a real slap in his face
This is where I am as well. I will never gain entry into the Tim Miles Fan Club and you won’t find me singing his praises for NOT finishing 13th in a 14-team league. But college basketball is now much more like baseball. Players are going to explore their options any time they can- it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re unhappy with the NU program or its coach.People in this thread are working hard to frame this as an indictment of Miles. It isn’t. “Entering” the draft to get a pro evaluation is a good move for anyone with aspirations of playing in the league. It means very little regarding their presence in Lincoln next year.
There are reasons to be critical of Tim Miles (Personally, I don’t think he can coach offense effectively and it means he needs his star players to successfully play hero ball in order to win games). But there’s nothing to complain about here.
Neither have hired agents. Doesnt bode well for our prospects next year.
I'm calling it now, after Copeland and Palmer officially leave when we are getting blown out at home by Northwestern, people will be clamoring, 'give the guy a break his two best players left him! you have to give him time to get some recruits!'Miles should have been fired last year, but its just as well with the chaos that followed in the AD office, etc. He did enough for another year I guess, but he has no margin for error left. Produce next year or bye-bye
When was the last time we legitimately had 2 guys declare who had any shot of being drafted? Personally I don't think Copeland has a realistic chance of being drafted but at least he's close. Get the evaluation and see where you're at. Personally IF they've graduated, they should try to at least start a Masters degree program. This is where I am as well. Something about your posting history lately makes me think you need to change your sig pic. Judas might be more appropriate. Maybe Thomas as in doubting Thomas.I'm calling it now, after Copeland and Palmer officially leave when we are getting blown out at home by Northwestern, people will be clamoring, 'give the guy a break his two best players left him! you have to give him time to get some recruits!'
Yeah I don't blame Copeland and especially Palmer for testing the waters - why wouldn't they? If they do leave, it could get ugly for the Husker next season. But I'll save that discussion until the deadline for pulling out of the draft passes. When was the last time we legitimately had 2 guys declare who had any shot of being drafted? I've been saying all along that both would go. Hope I'm wrong. I think it's just an age thing with the belief that their NBA stock won't get any better than it is now. If overseas is their ticket and the NBA isn't in their immediate cards, well just as well go pro, make some cash and try the NBA a year or two later.Neither have hired agents. Judas had a cheap buyout and a very short contract. Must have been really bad for recruiting.Something about your posting history lately makes me think you need to change your sig pic. Judas might be more appropriate. Maybe Thomas as in doubting Thomas.
His "termination" was not pleasant either.Judas had a cheap buyout and a very short contract. Must have been really bad for recruiting.
IF they've graduated, more power to them. IF they haven't graduated, they would be fools to not finish their degrees. That piece of paper is MUCH more valuable than a year in the G league.I've been saying all along that both would go. Hope I'm wrong. True, but I think they would be thinking overseas where the money would be better. Get started earning six figures or close to it depending on where they go. A few kids actually come back and play some NBA ball like Anthony Tolliver.IF they've graduated, more power to them. IF they haven't graduated, they would be fools to not finish their degrees. I dunno, that depends. Whats their major?IF they've graduated, more power to them. IF they haven't graduated, they would be fools to not finish their degrees. That piece of paper is MUCH more valuable than a year in the G league.
Isn't it sad though that 2 players make all the difference between MAYBE being successful or being a bottom feeder in the conferenceYeah I don't blame Copeland and especially Palmer for testing the waters - why wouldn't they? You mean that if the football team lost 40% of next season's starting line up it would be hunky-dory?Isn't it sad though that 2 players make all the difference between MAYBE being successful or being a bottom feeder in the conference
