Didn’t Donavan Mcnabb want to play here but Danny Née wouldn’t let him play B ball.

Also, what was the Diamondback stud who spurned Solich for Baseball.

Now I love me some Jammal Lord, but to me the biggest recruiting miss happened in the 1999 class. Nebraska was still operating at a high level and Eric Crouch was on the brink of greatness. A kid, who few know as a football player, signed his LOI with NU. A kid from Davis High School (Houston, TX) nicknamed "The Perfect Storm" Carl Crawford!

The dude was a sublime athlete and had his choice of playing basketball at UCLA, football at NU or baseball in The Show. He would have taken over after Crouch and been an absolute stud, what could have been. Maybe we would still be running the beautiful option. With an aging Solich ready to hand over the reins to his OC Scott Frost. I think Crawford was that elite athlete that could've changed our programs fortunes. All the years we spent languishing in the mire of irrelevance because Carl Crawford, it was a perfect storm...

Good call. It certainly hurt the program when he decided not to play at NU.

Rocky Hinds. Callahan took him bowling on his official visit in late January. Everybody thought he was going to pull the trigger at the bowling alley. He ended up signing with USC.
