I'm wondering when if ever we will start hearing news out of winter conditioning. The impression I get from media members is frost is going to be pretty tight lipped on everything. I wouldn't be surprised if the players also will be shut down to speaking.

Sounds like they are all in for a rude awakening wonder how many will just simply quit.

Heard a player up chucked. Its not confirmed if it was flu or winter conditioning. Can't wait to find out. Suspense is killing me.

Have you ever got a nice good workout in and feel sick after? Yeah, it happens..

The first time I saw the movie about Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson falling in love on Titanic I was suspenseful about if the ship was going to sink.

I didn't see Titanic because I knew what was going to happen.
Same reason I don't watch Animal Planet.

I seem to remember in one of Frost’s interviews he said his goal is to combine what he learned about strength and conditioning at Nebraska with the speed and offensive philosophy he learned at Oregon. If he can do that he is going to produce some very dangerous teams.

He might even go 13-0 and beat Auburn with inferior talent.....oh ,wait....

Don’t know if this has been posted but Gerald Foster and Luke Gifford did a podcast called “Water Cooler Talk” it’s the student run account affiliated with Barstool Sports. They talk about Scott Frost, Winter Conditioning and other stuff.. thought it was pretty good stuff and an insight you might not get with traditional media. Lotta Jon king around.

Don’t have the link but if you can find it on the ITunes Podcast app for IPhone users! It starts around the 25 minute mark and lasts 16 minutes

This quote is quite telling:
"Frost said that head strength coach Zach Duval and his staff modified their initial workout plan after testing the players on the roster, reducing and moderating workouts because of where most players tested."

I understand the team was not really in explosive shape, but to suggest a guy being hospitalized is due to him being a "boy" and not a "man" may be a bit extreme. Everyone is on a journey and it doesn't mean they need to be in "10" shape on day one. Yes, they need to get there, but I hope the strength and conditioning crew recognizes where these guys are today so they can aim for higher performance come spring/fall.

It sounds like this muscle issue these guys had is very, very serious.

Nah. It's just that they can't hang. Need to toughen up!
Now excuse me while a go buy a case of Busch Light and put a 90s football tape on.

The boys on HPH (lead by Harold) are saying 15-20 players need to go to the hospital instead of just 2. That way they all leave.

You guys need to get on board with that!

None of our prospects
Haven't logged in there in probably 6 months

I can tweet out your name on that account if it will make you feel better

There is a fine line here of getting progress and pushing athletes too far. The early workouts may not have fully taken into account the prior training vs. what Frost wants. Unfortunate it put a few players in the hospital - but it has happened at other schools (see Iowa 13).

We'll see how the players adjust (how many quit or transfer) - I do think this is necessary to improve.

Tyjon and the Owen kid responded negatively to a very intense workout. The workout was monitored by staff. The length of the workout was cut from 40 to 32 minutes, a 20% reduction.
UCF's play this year did not happen by accident. Those kids put in a ton of sweat equity and mastered workout such as the one in question.

Seems a couple of the kids are trying hard to get to a higher standard than what they are use to. Can't fault them for that. Looks like the staff already cut down training a lot and finding out how unfit a lot of them are.

Yes and and it sounds like the 40 minute workout is not the "full monty" either. It is just the transitional workout to get kids built up to the full workout regimen.

This- hey the kids are in better shape than theyve ever been in-
Hey the kids are closer than theyve ever been before- BALONEY that we hear every year- may ACTUALLY be true this year

Im ALWAYS very sceptical of talk like this
But after reading what the CFU guys said and the info on this "light" workout version of what they usually do- Im thinking there is a new sherriff in town and things might be quite a bit different than in years past. Especially when the metrics they measured showed that they had to start very "slow" AND the info about CFU having so few injuries and playing so hard late into games.

Players coach who wants everyone to like him- Mr Rogers- not a fan of
Players coach- who is a nasty competitor and leads by example when it comes to commitment, accountability and working hard- Im a fan of

Those kids need to push the button that makes their kidneys filter out protein from dead muscle fibers better! Soft! They need to chose to have their blood more effectively rid of destroyed tissue! Like we did back in my day! #MakeKidneysGreatAgain

Is this what full melt-down looks like in a thread?
Keep up the act, hack. It's ok. You are the cool one who called out the kid. No amount of butthurt from your mouth will change it

Ah, Joe Zweiback and Vern Gagne. Love it. As a little boy, I lived behind Ernie and Joe Dusek just east of St Joseph hospital. Good old Gera speed. The wrestlers were great.
