I think certain aspects of the author's suggestions are valid. There is a monopoly and I think expanding to 8 teams with conference champions having an automatic selection would be more legitimate, more representative, more appeasing to the teams not in the p5 (but not a perfect solution), and even more of a cash cow.
I would like to see more benefit for the players like the suggested injury insurance because these kids have to live with those for the rest of their lives and the money the coaches and ad's make is getting unbelievable and the kids take almost all of the risk.
I am a KC Royals fan and year after year I get so sick of the large market teams using their big bucks for the highest bid to buy free agents out from under the small market teams. The small market teams pay to develop players just to be out bid by the damn yankees. But, without the small market teams, there wouldn't be a real league and the few big market teams would end up only playing each other 50 times and be very boring. This eventually would kill baseball as we know it.
The NFL, on the other hand has structured so there is more parody and the chances for any team to be in the playoffs is much greater, thus creating more interest and generating more money.
The p5 and college football as a whole actually benefits from the g5 to fill 12 game schedules and should give the g5 more of an avenue to participate in the playoffs, if nothing else, to keep the national interest at a greater level. Don't kill the goose that
lays the golden eggs.
As an example of lost interest, I will not waste my time watching another sec conference championship. alabama should not even be in it. This cfp, along with any and all previous systems for selection, is biased and subjective. The FCS has a workable and, seemingly, much more legitimate system.
