Fans need to get over Keith Williams. There are other good receivers coaches out there. Walters is a Broyles Award Finalist. He's the best receiver in Stanford history. He's gotten results everywhere he's coached.

Good news! Paying him Big bucks! What was his salary at UCF? Just curious.

Don't have a problem with Walters but as a route coach Dubs may have an edge and in the minds of many of our commits and current receivers they may feel so too. That said the receivers can be confident they are getting a outstanding coach. He will demand different skill sets to some degree but Ihave no doubt KDub has instilled accountability and commitment in his position group. Coach Walters is getting the best coached kids in the program. Add some more to the room and the WO room will again be the strength of the team. Many Gorillas minded kids.W4L

Problem with not keeping Williams is we may lose a few of our stud WR. Long term no a big loss but short term it could hurt.

Would much rather have Coach Williams kept on staff. There goes our recruiting class to move the ENTIRE UCF staff to Lincoln. BIG mistake.

The program is better off without KW (aka Wideouts). He never once met his recruiting numbers, he got left at the alter two years in a row, and some WR's left right after arriving on campus. Coaching wise they were always dropping passes and nobody was getting separation.

KW has a good Twitter game though and can run summer camps with gifted NFL WR's.

If KW was so great he would already be hired at a blueblood. Now he is following head coaches on Twitter to try and get a job.

Walters has a better resume and already knows Frost's system. The WR group will function better in this scheme because they will be coached by Walters instead of KW - who would have to learn how to teach WR's to run block.

DW is the defensive backs coach, Donte Williams.

The receivers coach is Keith Williams.

I won’t even try and knock Keith Williams, he was one of the few good coaches we had under Riley. All he could do is teach the kids, it was up to them to us it on the field. But I won’t lose any sleep with Walters being hired. It was a good problem to have at WR coaching. Either KW or Walters, can’t lose with either. But again, we can stop trying to down play Keith Williams, he was and is a one hell of a WR coach. I’m sure he will land somewhere. But are in great hands under Walters. I’m more then satisfied. I hope we keep Josh Moore at the very least and hell Cam Brown would be nice, too. Now hopefully we can another 4 star WR or two to go with Moore (again I think his love for the Huskers keeps him here) but I have no clue about Cam Brown who’s visiting the SuckEyes this weekend. :(

A lot of the previous staff are getting jobs back in Oregon State again. 25 years from now we will wonder how an AD could have been so stupid like SE was. Amazing.

25 years from now? More like 25 minutes from now...incompetent boobery at the highest level. Thank heavens the grown ups are back in charge at DONU...

Big mistake....why?

Earlier this evening on 1620, they read an email from someone who I think made a great point. The schedule next year is a BI$&@. Pretty sure SF knows that. Frost might feel his best chance to be successful next year was to keep as much, if not all his staff together because they have chemistry. He might be right.

I can hear the response and someone will say that’s short sighted. To that I’d say, “What if Riley doesn’t lose game 1 on a Hail Mary vs BYU?” Does that change his season 1?

Williams over Walters is a joke. I wanted Williams in addition to Walters, but if I had to choose, it would definitely be Walters. He fits in a lot better with Frosts offense first and foremost.

Every bit of the stench of the last group of coaches that brought Husker football to its lowest level in 50 years needs to be purged. If Frost brings in an 80th ranked class - I have faith he can do more with it than the last staff could do with a top 10 class. Look how Iowa and Wisconsin top 40 classes beat the piss out of Reily’s top 25 classes.

That’s a short sighted take. I could see arguing that Williams is a better coach than Walters. Or that we should try to retain both. But keeping a couple recruits?

Glad we finally have grown ups running the program.

And just as important...he knows that Frost requires tenacious blocking from his WRs. "No Block, No Rock."

"There goes our recruiting class???" C'mon. In a couple weeks, you'll forget about our entire previous coaching staff. This transition will actually be relatively painless.
