Sorry, didn't see your post. I just posted the same stats in another thread which was asking if Scott's offense can be successful in the Big Ten. I agree, that it is the defense, and NOT the offense that should be cause for concern. Is anyone else concerned with his D? Not saying he is going to bring he D coordinator but that is one area that is a concern to me.

He could have a no arm linebacker play better than any of ours did.He had a 1 armed linebacker that played twice as good as any of the linebackers on our roster.

Much less of a concern of Dicaca's D.Is anyone else concerned with his D? Not saying he is going to bring he D coordinator but that is one area that is a concern to me.

He just had a kid so I'll assume his D is just fine.I don't worry about his D. His business.
I suspect people will do a lot of bitching if opposing RBs in the West turn our games into a track meet. So there is something we can do about it.I'm hoping he hires a different DC here, not interested in Chinander. If he brings him along as the DC, nothing we can do about it.

Part of having a prolific and high powered offense is that you give the opposing offense a lot of possessions . This year, UCF is #1 in points/game and #6 in yards/game on offense.
With that being said, they're still #33 in points/game.
UCF is #100 is time of possession this year with the most points/game. They score a lot and quickly. This makes it hard for your defense.

Given what happened this year, Mark Banker is a name of nostalgia.I think the fan base would ***** and moan about it until there was a change. Like Banker...

You left off Turnovers Gained, where they rank 4th in the country. Overall, UCF is tied for 1st in the nation in Turnover Margin.
They held Memphis, which is #2 nation in scoring offense, to only 13 points. Obviously they didn't play well against USF, but that was the first game they really struggled with stopping a team from scoring.

With a top 5 scoring offense, and a top 30 scoring defense, that will win Scott a lot of games at Nebraska.
Great point. You are going to have to look at stats a little different when you play tempo.Y'all aren't looking at the right stats. If you want to compare teams you must look at points per play (or points per possession). It's the only stat that makes sense when comparing slow teams and fast teams.
Right now UCF is #2 in points per play nationally.
The UCF defense is #19 in points per play nationally.
I can live with a top 20 defense.
