Just said on 1620. Nebraska's last rushing TD was in the 2nd quarter of the Illinois game.
Nope. Our recruiting at that spot is severely lackingAlthough we have some decent backs, we really need a dynamic back that can make big plays. Unfortunately, I don't see us signing that type of back this year.
I heard we have scored 8 TDs on the ground, with our last one coming in September.
Didnt Bill Walsh with Roger Craig and his 1krushing/1krecieving invent the west coast offense? What do you expect from a WCO philosophy? Running is at the bottom of the list of goals..
Pass protection and an extra receiver is all a RB is good for.

Beat me to it. Craig rushed for a 1000 and caught a 1000 in one year. Of course they had a pretty good fullback who ran for quite a few yards too. Rathman. That was about as WCO as you can get. I think actually somebody else gets credit for the origin of the WCO but Walsh perfected his version.Didnt Bill Walsh with Roger Craig and his 1krushing/1krecieving invent the west coast offense?
No, what we need is a staff that’s committed to running the ball. If you watch practice, you can see a lack of run production coming. This offense is getting worse each year. We could have really used the QB run game this year. That added dimension would have helped the offense move the ball. So now we have a QB that’s a statue back there.Although we have some decent backs, we really need a dynamic back that can make big plays. If you don’t practice the run, you cannot very well expect to run the ball in a game. The practices lack physicality and the team is becoming soft. This staff is committed to throwing the ball all over place and the run game has disappeared.

Yes, I have seen practices and they are appalling! Football is a violent game and if you don’t practice being physical and violent, you can’t just turn it on in a real game. We are soft! You’ve seen this in practice this year having attended a practice or practices? Just curious...
I listened to Sports Nightly traveling home tonight and Coach Cav was on. One of the listeners asked a pointed question about recruits being on campus for a visit during game day, how can they have a good time when they see that NU can’t run the GD ball!?
Cav literally said “Im speechless...we need to do better”
Most of the other questions tonight revolved around him giving convoluted answers about player development. At one point he was answering a question about Gates and Foster and how inconsistent they are, Cav essentially had no answer as to why his upperclassmen were underperforming. Said that player development is a “two way street” and that he leaves it up to his players to take to his coaching, that they have to want to be coached.
It sounded highly dysfunctional
Sounds like he coaches himself out of options by his take it or leave it coaching style and his refusal to be consistent and use the bench or whatever other tools to bring guys along.
Cav has been an anchor on this sinking ship and his guys don’t help bail much water
And whose fault is that? The QB’s are all Riley guys and the O-Line is terribly coached. The offense is getting worse each year!Regardless of basic offensive philosophy, it is hard to score any touchdowns when you have a timid quarterback and a division II quality offensive line.
