Hard to win when you don’t throw strikes. We deserve to lose because we are gifting them base runners.
Jiminy Christmas this story is getting old. I mean, 17.
A pinch hitter with none on and 2 outs???
I just don't understand the pitching decisions in this game. It was a one run game. We were a bloop and a blast from playing for the national championship. Instead we stick with Hootie and Preston for a couple of hitters too long, and we go to Tullar and Patrick. I wish we would play to win the damn game and not throw back end guys out there and hope.
Forsythe in the second inning was our last hit. It's that bad.
Not a bad pitch that went yard - down and in - we’ll score 5 tonight
For once, in three games. And it ain't over yet. This is the issue. We didn’t have an answer for Madden.
Preston Johnson ain’t a back end guy. He’s literally been the first man up (besides Sims) every time in the postseason, and Tullar is the only LH matchup guy we have when Harding isn’t available.
But ultimately, you’ve got to 17ing score…and that’s still a problem for us. In 3 years and 10 ballgames in Omaha, we’ve still only had 2 innings that we’ve really swung the bats well and put up a crooked number. Again, 2 innings in 10 games. It’s gotta be better than that. Hell, we’ve only scored at all in 3 out of 25 innings in this CWS. That’s 17ing pathetic.
If you go back and read what I said, I was clearly referring to Tullar and Patrick as back end guys. My gripe about Preston is that he was in too long, which has been a theme most of this season.
Yes, we've got to score. But we weren't going to do much against Madden. Everyone knew that going in. That's why it was so damn important to keep this score close, so we could set ourselves up to do damage to their pen late.
This game was absolutely must win. Even if we win tomorrow we are going to have a pitching mess on our hands for the finals.
He just can't bring in Sims without the lead.
Walks are killing us tonight
Tight plate again... imagine that.
