The saddest part is that poor guy knows nothing about his own coach. Bianco is

53 years old. Retirement isn't even remotely on his radar. If they do something ignorant like firing him, he will go somewhere else and win. Probably win even more than where he's at. Given LSU's struggles, I'd almost love for him to go there and win a title. After we win a couple of our own first though of course.

Stupidest "tradition" in any college sport by any fanbase.

Garrison says: "Hey, let's go to dinner after the game!" Wakefield responds: "Nah, gotta go home and shower and wash my clothes."

And Garrison's response: "Let's shower together."

And here in lies the problem with OM fans.

OM baseball is not a top 10 program in the country. It is about middle of the pack in the SEC.

Claiming to be a top 5 program in America with one Omaha appearance and one measly share of a conference title since the Carter administration is absurd, but that is what they think they are, for whatever godforsaken reason. What NCAA basketball program would call their program top 5-10 in America with one elite 8 and one conference title in over 40 seasons?

Here are the programs in the SEC that are unquestionably ahead of them, without even going out of conference and talking about Louisville, UCLA, TCU, Texas, TTU, Florida State, UNC, etc.

Vandy
Florida
USCe
LSU
Arkansas
MSU

They are on about the same level as A&M. So they are 7/8 in the SEC. I would say they are ahead of UGA as a program, but the UGA baseball job is better.

The expectations OM fans have are so out of touch with reality, they cannot be reasoned with. Bianco is not a good game manager and comes up short in the post season. That has masked the fact that he has overachieved for 20+ years at program building, roster management, and regular season performance. OM fans only see the flaws and ignore Bianco being damn near elite at everything else.

We all know why their expectations are where they are....and it has everything to do with what's been done here. No, we haven't won a natty, but we've had a lot of success, and are a big reason baseball is as big as it is in this conference. That gets under their skin because they are #obsessed.

....is delicious on days like today. Some gems I've seen:

Nobody on our team would start for ole miss except maybe TA.

Broadway is the best relief pitcher for ole miss and would be for state too.

Let's all cry about the catchers interference no-call but not mention their base runner taking out Hatcher.

We have a motel 6 straight out of the 70s in the outfield.

We only won because of the big crowd and order will be restored next week at vandy.

It's all Bianco's fault.

Little brother's upset.

For what it’s worth, I defended y’all’s stadium on the post you’re referring to. #I’mNoHero

They've been to Omaha ONCE in the past 20 years and this guys thinks they should be a top 5 program.

I really want to know WHY he thinks they should be a top 5 program.

Actually, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is once in the last FIFTY years. Uh yeah, top 5 program for sure.

The English word you are looking for would be "your". It can be used either in the singular or plural sense. Kudos for getting "you're" right though.

I went back before hitting submit and changed it to “y’all” just because I knew you were so hung up on it and viewed it as such a big roast. You’re intelligence is clearly so much higher than mine that I could never possibly compete in this battle of wits. You got me once again, man. What award are y’all gonna (or excuse me “going to”) give this brilliant guy?

He is a good coach, and I always said that their lack of post season success was mostly just bad luck. Even over a decade, it's pretty easy to just catch a run of good or bad luck in the post season and make a coach out to be a better or worse post season coach than he actually is. But I think I'm finally convinced that it's something a little more than luck at this point and that as good as he is as a coach, there is something beyond luck that is causing their lack of post season success.

He has definitely improved their program to where they can step on the field with anyone and would be a good candidate for LSU, I just hope they don't figure that out. We don't need him leading a team with no "scholarship" problems.

They are definitely not a top 5 program in the SEC. They are at best the 7th best program in the SEC. Vandy, LSU, FLorida, and USCe all have national championships since Bianco has been there. Then Arkansas and MSU have been to multiple Omaha trips and knocked on the door of a national championship while Ole Miss has made it once.

ETA: Forgot about A&M. A&M has two Omaha appearances in the past decade. Maybe Ole Miss can make an argument they're better than A&M b/c they've been more consistent? Not sure.

Auburn has made the college world series once since Bianco has been there. I assume Ole Miss has been more consistent than them, although I'm guessing Butch is gaining ground.

UGA went to the college world series four times between 2001 and 2008.

UT went to the college world series in 2001 and 2005.

Ole Miss went to the college world series in 2014.

Well because they get a top 5 recruiting class every year. And around those parts, that’s what matters.

Yep the time before last Archie was a pitcher on that team. So was Will Rogers grand dad.
