....is delicious on days like today. Some gems I've seen:

Nobody on our team would start for ole miss except maybe TA.

Broadway is the best relief pitcher for ole miss and would be for state too.

Let's all cry about the catchers interference no-call but not mention their base runner taking out Hatcher.

We have a motel 6 straight out of the 70s in the outfield.

We only won because of the big crowd and order will be restored next week at vandy.

It's all Bianco's fault.

Little brother's upset.

Just when you thought Ole Miss fans couldn't be any more whiney and miserable, they discovered the game of baseball.

For a while they were convinced Bianco had buried State baseball and they stole our thunder. Many of their fans still are. Reality keeps frustrating the hell out of them.

Mike Bianco is 3-16 against state head to head over the last 19 games.

That's a cute little baseball program he's built though. Maybe they'll see some games in Omaha this year (most likely on TV).

LSU will most certainly be coach shopping at the end of this season. Wonder if Bianco or Vitello will be their top target.

Stupidest "tradition" in any college sport by any fanbase.

Garrison says: "Hey, let's go to dinner after the game!" Wakefield responds: "Nah, gotta go home and shower and wash my clothes."

I agree that it is a stupid tradition and I hate ole miss as much as the next guy....but, I do remember people throwing bourbons and cokes at football games in our student section years ago.

Note: I did enjoy when the drinks were raining down on mustard buzzard fans back when we beat Favre down there.

Notice they didn’t say anything about the bush league throwing a ball into the field of play in the 8th.

Ole Miss is a good team. They should learn to be happy with what they have and quit worry about us and our stadium.

Poor guys...

Mike Bianco is a really damn good coach. It’s amazing how consistent they are year in and year out. The guy has won 13+ SEC games every season since he was hired over 20 years ago.

That being said, their program ceiling is a notch below us. He racked up a lot of wins against us in our worst 10 year stretch in program history. There’s a reason we own them since getting our **** together several years ago.

I keep hoping they are dumb enough to fire Bianco, but their administration has not reached that level of stupidity yet.

Saw a tweet that Cohen, Henderson and Bianco are tied for the same # of wins since 2016 in the series. That one always gets me.

Boy, Yancy is a regular baseball genius ain’t he?

He says they’re better than us at every aspect of the game except relief pitching.

Um, Yanc... might want to read that sentence real slow, look at the results of the weekend (and 5 years prior), and think on it real hard.

He is a good coach, and I always said that their lack of post season success was mostly just bad luck. Even over a decade, it's pretty easy to just catch a run of good or bad luck in the post season and make a coach out to be a better or worse post season coach than he actually is. But I think I'm finally convinced that it's something a little more than luck at this point and that as good as he is as a coach, there is something beyond luck that is causing their lack of post season success.

Bianco pulling McDaniel didn't really make that much sense at that particular moment in the game. That's what really bit him, when we were able to string together those hits off their new guy.
He really gave the FIRE BIANCO crowd all the ammo they needed.
They were yappin' about the move at coffee this morning: 'the only reason' they lost....

Their football program has been like this for years. They buy into their own preseason hype, get all excited and lose their wad before the action ever starts.

Alot of us are old enough to remember what their program was before Bianco.

But most have them have forgot. Granted I know it sucks losing to your rival so much but all in all he's a good coach. They've got this whole misconception about baseball but more specifically, the CWS. Getting there is not an easy thing to do. Takes talent but takes alot of luck too. I mean, we've prided ourselves on baseball for 100 years and we've been 11 times. A team doesn't just wake up in Omaha just because they've got a good ranking like their fans seem to think.

I posted this elsewhere, but McDaniel hasn't been starting every weekend and wasn't stretched out. He was at 91 pitches and his velocity was down. It was just a matter of time before we got to him because he was out of gas. That's why Bianco took him out. He can't defend who he brought in to replace him, though.

All of this rage from Ole Miss fans about Bianco taking McDaniel out early is just faux rage. If he had left the guy in and he coughed up the lead, they'd be killing him for that, too.

It's hard to compare the two since football doesn't really have a post season, but their football team hasn't had a lot of legitimately good football teams that just tank when it matters. They have been a little up and down because of their style of play, but it's not like you can look at what they've done the past couple of decades and say they've significantly underachieved. But they've had legitmately good baseball teams and for the most part have nothing to show for it. They've hosted 9 regionals in the last two decades and been to 7 more. But they've only gotten 6 super regionals out of that. And out of those 6 supers (3 of which they hosted), they only made it once. That's just wild.

In comparison, in the past decade, we've been to 8 regionals total, and made it to 6 supers out of those 8, and then made it to Omaha 3 times out of those 6 supers.

Spot on. Year after year after year, because of their media connections I think primarily, they are the most over hyped team in the country, especially in football and baseball. It is just sheer pleasure to watch the hype melt down every year as their season progresses, and especially in the postseason for baseball.

I don't think our fans understand it right now. We've been having a pretty good run on getting to Omaha and in particular supers in the last decade. We have elevated our program by a decent amount and we may not improve our post season performance any compared to the last decade.

Somebody needs to tell this clown that relief pitching is what championship baseball rests on. That’s why they always choke down the stretch. If they were a real baseball fan base, they’d know that.

Kinda like bragging about having good receivers in football or ranked recruiting classes or the most tiktok followers... Ok. Congrats?
