Josh Hatcher is stuck on I-49, even after breaking out a little this weekend.

This is great. Thanks. Beggars cant be chooser but can you add Ks to the hitting and pitching? Amazingly we are now 5th in team Bat Avg and 7th in slug in conf play

Whew - those pitching staff numbers...

I don't know if my expectations were reasonable, but I'm actually a little disappointed in the pitching stats outside Bednar, Christian, and Sims.

I was expecting to have somebody emerge as a fourth best pitcher out of all our options. Of course, we have so many options we have been trying out that we have a lot of guys with too few innings for the SEC stats to really tell the story well.

Yeah, a little disappointing, I think, but it's also a relatively small sample size. Koestler and P. Johnson's numbers are a little skewed, but they need to be better. B. Smith needs to be better.

I think our pitching is going to get better as the season goes on.

Bottom line totals for both hitting and pitching are significantly better than opponents. That is what matters.

Looking ahead to this weekend:

Nikhazy/Hoglund-1.71 ERA
everybody else-7.31 ERA

How quickly we get those two out of the game will tell you how well the weekend is going.

Wow, that is quite a jump

Hancock is not hitting too great in SEC play but here are these numbers:

He has started every game this season and only has 8(!) total strike outs. That is not a typo
He leads the team in walks with 26(!) the next guy is Logan Tanner with 18

Dude just gets on base and puts the ball in play

I love looking at BB/K ratio. Just put the ball in play or take your base.

Thanks for putting these together. Helps differentiate the facts from what I often think and feel.

Will do. I was surprised to see that in SEC play we strike out at the plate less than any team in the league. We all know that our pitchers strike a lot of guys out. Only South Carolina's pitching staff has more strikeouts in SEC play. They have pitched a few more innings but are still slightly better than us in terms of K/9IP.

I will have to say this about Lemonis. He has a lot of faith in Hatcher and is willing to stick his neck out for him because he could replace JH in the lineup tomorrow and nobody would blame him for doing it even if the new guy craps the bed. But if he sticks with Hatch and he doesn't turn it around he will take a lot of heat unless we win a natty.
