One of the worst statements I have ever read.

Say it with me. ITS NO ONE'S BUSINESS HOW YOU RUN YOUR BUSINESS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DEFENS YOURSELF TO THE PUBLIC FOR A PERSONNEL ISSUE.

Should not have sent out the text, but

Sounds like they had the goods on employee theft. And they were tired of it.

This would not push me away as a customer.

Make it stop

If you are friends with the owners, tell them to shut up. Just quit talking.
Now they have admitted to health code violations.
Case study on how to not handle a situation.

Exactly. These owners are about to mess around and make this a National story. Just shut up and move on. Every time you respond you restart the clock and bring more losers into the fold. Shane and Katelyn, you are going to lose everything you have built if you don’t shut up on social media.

They fired a thief and most likely the thief or somebody she knew created a bunch of fake racist texts in revenge. It blew up on twatter or whatever.

And the woke mob believes the thief because business owners are evil.

There really is no point for a business to engage on social media. Unless you run it like Wendy’s.

"Staff of young employees".
Oh, don't get me started.

Too late.

Younguns, STFU, do your job, or GTFO before the door the entrepreneurs of our age built lodge the doorknob in your *** on your way out.

At what point do your mother17ing feelings mean more than the fundamental principles of hard work, not stealing, and loyalty to your employer?

Full disclosure, I gave up on hiring young people years ago for this reason. I decided that I can do it faster and better myself, and I did so. They said I "need" them. I proved them wrong.

The last year I had employees I worked myself stupid just trying to put out fires, and broke even. I went solo and had less stress, freedom to bid contracts my way, with no guilt about other mouths to feed, and slept better. Making more money was essentially a side benefit to less stress.

You don't like your role ? Get off your *** and show us how "you can do it better". Don't talk ****; show us how you can do better. Be sure you file your LLC or corporation properly, pay all your quarterly taxes, stay on top of payroll, overhead, licenses, equipment, liablity insurance, and workman's comp while juggling profit margins with ever changing competition just to break even.

Downvote away, you hypocritical gang of lazy 17ing leeches, who think that big bad business owners can't find another way.
Strangebrew, get TF off social media and focus on what got you where you are.
Brats, enjoy your new job at Amazon, Walmart or McDonald's, and GTF off my lawn.

Yep. I am telling y'all this is so following the pattern of the French revolution it isn't even funny. It's just a matter of when the reign of terror starts.

Problem is kids these days don’t want to learn and have zero ambition. Everything given to them is expected. This girl got the middle finger and can’t accept being wrong. The end.

You are correct. At this point, there are Jacobins everywhere, but no Robespierre.

I’d want to make a statement because of the doctored emoji text. If that didn’t happen - I agree.

Might as well address both if you are making one.

Business communications professors could make an entire “what not to do” course out of the disastrous way Strange Brew has handled this event. What makes it so odd is that Strange Brew built their following through being great at social media.

I agree, but it's not the end. Not for them.

For them-the Benedict Arnold entitled employees- they're not done until they recieve social media acceptance from their fellow losers in the vilification of small business owners who simply call out internal ********.

Not the ******** from competitive outside sources that they can't control and struggle against with zero help from state, local, and federal government; but insidious, treasonous ******** from those you train, pay, and invest in. Many a night a business owner will lay awake, hoping their employees don't stick a knife in their back; all the while worrying about the logistics of making sure they have a full hourly week on their paycheck for the valuable work they do.

For small business owners, it's never "the end".

You guys saying Strange Brew needs to get off social media could not be more wrong. Without social media, Strange Brew is a good cup of coffee, not appreciably different than coffeehouses in every other town. With it, it’s an empire with 3 locations (so far) and a cult following.

Strange Brew has survived because they are local owner operators and have a great product.
I fully support those people Who put their necks on the line and take risks to provide a superior product and jobs. The money you spend at strange brew stays in the community. The money you spend on franchises like Starbucks are less local.

I own 4 small businesses and I will always support locally owned, because we put our money where our faith is.

Maybe a tweet is not the best way to handle this. However, I am glad to see SBC push back in some fashion. People screaming racism, when it is found to be untrue, need to have some repercussions for their false accusations. I would enjoy seeing SBC file some defamation suits for libel on the woke twitter mob. However, that isn't practical...expensive and exhausting. Maybe the rumor mill gets the names of theives around town and the thieves find it difficult to find another job.

At the end of the day, good people need to start pushing back. If a bully (liberal woke mob) pushes you, you do nothing. Then you will be seen as weak and be cancel. The current approach to woke mob isn't working.

Ill be sure to go by there this weekend and buy a gift card for later.

I read a couple of times, that Chik-Fil-A actually made more money when the protesters were mad at them about how the owner contributed to charities that the mob didn't approve of.
Of course there are businesses that do get hurt, especially if the Mob gets together to give a bunch of 1 star reviews. Hopefully this won't be the case.
It's a shame how much power the mob-of-ignorance has right now.
Hopefully Strange Brew comes out on top. I can say that I would actually start drinking coffee if I lived in Starkville right now.

Maybe they are taking direction from Cohen. After the Leach picture situation had blown over, Cohen brings it back up.

Yeah, I agree. That needed to be addressed. And they didn’t apologize for anything, which is good.

Coming out like this basically says if the racist text was real, whoever shared it originally needs to prove it wasn’t fake.

I’m going by for a frozen Marilyn and pastry tomorrow

You are waaay more adept at this than me. But honestly, I would hate to sit back idling as a business when unconfirmed attacks are being lobbed at me. SB has a solid Social Media presence and the attacks are coming via SM, so why should they forfeit the high ground on that media if they feel they are in the right? I think we get into these rhetoric conversations about how “millennials” feel this way and “boomers” feel that way. The fact is, especially in Starkville, you can try to destroy a business with your dirty laundry, but a well respected business, with a good local reputation will withstand that because from Boomer to Tech natives, we can see past ******** and recognize great establishments.
