Vic did bench Rickea last year for showing up late to practice late, and he almost benched several in his starting lineup that didn't show up to shoot around on time. He said Myah talked him out of it. Vic obviously ran a disciplined program, but he apparently had some that wanted to push buttons.

Sounds like "pre-madonnas" who forget they're getting free education, as well as free room and board. That's a sizable chunk, even for an instate person, and a huge chunck for an out-of-stater.

Vic needed players willing to buy into his method and proved he didn’t need 5 McDonald’s AAs to play at an elite level. Pension has proved that her method does not win at an elite level despite having multiple McD all AAs on the roster.

I agree with this. That really was a special group and the 2018 team was really an elite squad. That starting 5 was so locked in with each other and so experienced. They were beautiful to watch at times. 17 Notre Dame.

I doubt Vic ever reaches that level again, but I'm certainly not rooting against him and his staff, which is basically MSU West.

There are reasons for concern, but nothing has been proven 12 games into her tenure at State.
