In the last few days, i've read where cuomo is opening NY, lightfoot is opening chicago, UK says lockdown policy was wrong, and now cali gov trying to force schools open in Feb. With the inauguration in a few days and throw another 2T of printed money on the streets as soon as the door closes on tump - where do you think is the best place to put down some money especially considering a market already at ATH?

I'm thinking oil and bank stocks since they're still somewhat depressed? How do you short the stay at home FAANG stocks? i'm already deep in cryptos.

One thing that both Liberals and conservatives should agree on is that neither party gives a 17 about the taxpayers. If they did, they would not have included all the pork in that bullcrap stimulus package where they gave every American $600.

Unless the UK changed its tune overnight they are about to go to an even stricter lockdown than they are now under. The latest word was it lasts till March.

Cash.

Right now the market is looney toons. Hell, two days ago Carol Baskin pumped a penny stock on Twitter and it jumped 230% with a volume of over a billion shares.

It's like Joe Kennedy and his shoeshine boy all over again.

Read this for a while and see how stupid it really gets. https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/ It's people trying for five minutes of being internet famous by leveraging their life savings on stupid positions.

Even Warren Buffet moved into gold recently has a safe haven. It's going to blow up. I don't know when. But it will. Just be ready when it happens.

France now has a 6pm curfew.

I wonder how many this will kill?

Lockdowns kill people.

Well, I put stop/losses on all my stocks heading into this weekend. Hearing that some craziness may occur and don't want to wake up next Monday and see the market open up 2,000 point down or more.

Also, I'm sure someone will say this isn't true (and it wasn't in the first stimulus bill) but did you know that Congress got a $100,000 bonus for passing the 2nd stimulus bill?? They tried in March and it failed because it was discovered in the language, but it slipped thru on the 2nd go around. Man, $600 versus $100,000. Where's Trump when you need him, because he should have raised the roof on this crap!

You’d do real well to stop getting news from Facebook. Is there even a such thing as a bonus for congress members, under any circumstance?

A friend of mine told me today that he lost $17K he had invested (on the suggestion of his financial advisor) in an oil company that went bankrupt. Can't remember the name of the company.

Put your money here and you will out-perform 90% of folks who try to pick individual stocks:

https://investor.vanguard.com/mutual-funds/profile/vtsax

Thats a Bingo! Set it and forget it

I buy more shares when the market drops, and I do absolutely nothing other than look at the money I’ve made when it is as high as it is right now.

I’ll do something with it 30 years from now if I’m still alive. If not, my family can have it.

Man I wish I understood stock like y’all do.

With my short experience I would agree with dorn. Put most of your money in index funds and forget about it.

I like to buy some individual companies. Companies I believe in that have a big potential for long term growth. Carvana has been my biggest hit so far. Just investing what you can is a great start. It builds good habits and grows faster than you might think.

Assuming the country starts opening.... well, either way.

Do you believe the interest rates will stay low until at least summer?

I got a house to sell. I have another house that I need a construction loan to fix up. My last kid has one more year in high school. But I'm afraid I can't wait until summer 2022 to sell and buy at this Interest rate.

Many small businesses are on their last leg and now the Biden administration wants to finish them off with a $15/h minimum wage. Congrats to mega corporations. You won.

There’s rumbling of Q3 fed move but I doubt it. Monetary policy is part political now so they’ll overheat first before raising. Plus inflation is needed for this 30T debt. Btw #buybitcoin!!!

i jumped in energy stock in November and it has been killer. There is still room for growth but the ship is boarding right now with crude oil breaking 50 dollars.

Now Newsweek is saying lockdowns don’t work. We could see a full 180 soon. This locked up demand is going to bust lose. With free printed money coming soon you better not be in cash!!!

I did the same, but with alternative energy ETFs like PBW and QCLN. Seemed like a safe bet since I was confident in a Biden win at the time, but never did imagine that they’d nearly double in under 3 months. I’m still not quite sure what is continually sending their prices through the roof

I have pbw too but the call on plug could drag on it. The EV market has and will
Continue to scorch.

I agree that we need to look at raising minimum wage. It’s been awhile since it was last raised. But you’re absolutely right that now is not the time. It’s just going to increase unemployment right now. Most small businesses can’t afford to increase pay, even if a business owner wants to.

Inflation is needed? Well guess what, it's here. Have you seen commodity prices over the last four months? Check out our Alumni Richard Adkerson's company Freeport/McMoran over the last year. Hope you jumped in. But inflation is here big time and will only get worse with flooding of more cash. As my financial guru told me about two weeks back "We're spinning about 50 plates and there's currently not much rotation!!".

This should be plastered all over the internet and news. Sneaking bonuses thru (and this liberal fact checking site actually said it's true, but said in this article that they earned it! yea right!). 600 for us and $100,000 for them. Makes sense!!

You want it plastered all over the internet and news that Congress earned it's regular salary from April to December of 2020?

My friend said it was Oasis Petroleum. I did a quick search, and it seems they are (perhaps were - they're "restructuring") a fracking company that concentrates on west Texas. Perhaps his financial advisor was counting on Trump winning since he was a big supporter of fracking, and Biden/Harris hate fracking. If that was the reasoning, it was pretty risky advice. My friend said his stock was worth zero, but checking just now it looks like OAS is worth $45/share, so maybe he was exaggerating somewhat.

Was it a bonus? Its just the salary earned while concurrently working on CARES as well as countless other domestic and international issues.
