$2400.00 to some families will mean a lot. Maybe not for you liberal high rollers.

could have given everybody some more money if they didn’t include these in the bill..
$135 million to Burma
$85.5 million to Cambodia
$1.4 billion for "Asia Reassurance Initiative Act"
$130 million to Nepal
450 million to Ukraine
70 million to Sudan
500 million to Israel. <——added for BulldogBillyCrash since he thinks I intentionally left it out. Well here you go jackass.

Omnibus spending bills are the devil.

Don't forget if you are here illegally but live with a citizen, you get 600 too. We elect rulers now, not representatives.

Its coming, just don't know how soon.

Typical stuff in a "we have to Pass it, to know what's In it" 11th hour Bill...sadly the Elephants are just as guilty as the Donkeys for this kind of stuff.

Seriously! WTF! Now is not the time to play politics with the American people. Generational businesses are closing for good due to this bulls hit alone. Nothing to do with any decision they made business wise. 17n garbage.

Broad strokes. I know more people that have had banner years (construction industry in particular) than a hard time. I would rather see $6000 go to those who got screwed than $600 to everyone.

Of course now is the right time. It’s the easiest time to get junk in while our nation truly needs help.

Easier said than done. It’s hard to evaluate who has been impacted, especially when you need to get that money out quick. That said, this will come back out of my pocket again eventually. I’m not looking forward to that time.

Its criminal that they give our money away and we get crumbs while other countries get rich. It makes its way back to our politicians via kickbacks. Gender studies in Pakistan ? I will check them for $100 a head. Not hard to tell them apart. Outee or inee

Omnibus spending bills are the devil.

This is under the headline in the bill that says Asia Owns America's ***.

Russia is small potatoes.

See we paid Biden Jr's Ukraine loan off.

Y’all enjoy your stimulus. I didn’t get one the first time and won’t this time either.
And I’m sure my taxes will probably go up next year too. America!

I feel your pain. Fortunately, my job hasn't been affected by the virus so I didn't need the money. Lot of waste though with money being given out without regard to need, while some who do need some relief get nothing. And that goes for both rounds of stimulus money and the PPP loans.

I’m not defending the money to other countries at all but I believe the covid relief was attached to a bill to continue funding the government since a budget was never passed.

I agree the money given to other countries is dumb and out of control but I don’t believe that it was done in a covid relief bill.

I couldn’t get my joint AGI below 200k, so I won’t get a couple $600 checks for me and the wife. This sucks!!***

But that’s exactly my point. Right now there’s a lot of people and families hurting financially, priority should be taking care of our own and not trying to be the worlds slush fund.

When did 'we 17ers say' that?
I have trouble keeping straight all the groups that posters here claim I belong to.

Career politicians can be beneficial and can be detrimental. It totally depends on the person. Same applies to 'outsiders'.

I didn’t leave it out because I honestly didn’t know about it. I went off what I’d seen listed on twitter and I’m sure there were more that I didn’t list.

I mentioned we needed Term Limits this summer and there were posters that argued against it because we needed people that had experience writing bills.... this is what you get with people who are experienced writing bills.

Hell these folks in congress will never pass term limit legislation. Why in the world would they cut themselves out of controlling our wealth? They’ve got it made and want to keep it that way.

They are basically permanent division I football recruits. People constantly throwing money at them trying to sway their decisions.

Term limits aren't going to help anything. The public elected the legislators. Garbage in, garbage out.

Couldn’t agree more.

I was just pointing out that what got approved was not a covid stimulus bill with foreign aid but rather a government funding bill that included covid relief.

But in reality the bill shows just how inept and gridlock DC has become. Passing a budget should be a must. But it’s become common place to not pass one and just do these stop gap bills to keep the government running.
