win this game by 3 scores. It's true and if you can't admit it you're just white knighting for Leach. I want Leach to be bad *** big truss but man is his offense 17ing Croom level horrendous right now. Maybe Croom shoulda written a book instead of pouting. Worked for Leach. The book writing part not the pouting. We had 19 yards rushing tonight. 43 if you subtract the sacks. On 7 carries.

Moorhead would ha s gotten 5 false starts before the game started. He wasn’t the answer and leach better learn to adapt or he won’t be either. I’m starting to have the same feeling about his offense as I did Moorhead’s offense.

Did you watch Moorhead’s offense? Remember 2018 when we had the #1 D and were lucky IF we even scored???

Remember last year's Barn game? I do. The reality is last night's game was actually close for a loooong time instead of being over 2 minutes into 1st qtr.

Moorhead is better than Leach right now. It's not about having the answers after the fact it's about correcting our mistakes before me make them moving forward.

This is not a good offensive football team right now. They will continue to struggle until they all jive together. The RB’s all look pretty decent to be a bunch of freshmen. That position has definitely improved as the season has progressed after KH left. While not a strength in this offense, they haven’t been the reason for stagnant play. The WR group is still struggling to grasp the concept in this offense but there are some shining moments mixed in amongst the head scratchers where it looks like they’re running the wrong routes or they choose the wrong option when they have an option route. While the position group is littered with players from freshmen to seniors, they’re all new to this offense. The OL is continuing to miss blocks and at times it looks like one of them or more just take plays off and a defensive player runs right by them and they stand looking dumbfounded when it could be as simple as the OL leader (usually the C) needs to do better at calling out signals for assignments pre-snap. It appears that a DL switches his gap and the OL just doesn’t adjust their assignments. Then other plays, the OL is giving the QB all the time in the world. The QB is too slow with his reads sometimes. That happens with a freshman. Any fan expecting a freshman QB to come to State and be able to read the game at SEC speed and make decisions in the game is kidding themselves. He’s not Johnny Football 2.0. Hell, even 2 made mistakes but he had NFL caliber receivers running routes. State has no WR on the team that screams NFL draft yet but there are some young guys that show that potential. He will get better as the game slows down for him.

As for Moorhead and Co, sure they had a chance at winning this game had they been here. KH would have made a difference in this game had he been there to enjoy his senior day festivities. Shrader likely could have done a decent job as well. However, comparing Leach’s offense to Moorhead’s doesn’t work. Moorhead allowed his QB to tuck it and run if he had nowhere to throw it. That’s not happening with Leach. Leach doesn’t want his QB running it and teaches to not run the ball. Compare the two offenses with a freshman QB where one allows QB runs and the other doesn’t. The results will be different. It’s life and growing pains in a system.

It’s looking more and more like Leach was right to tell fans to go find another team. Fans are ridiculous. They act as if their livelihoods depend on the outcome of these games when they don’t. Unless the fan is betting on the games, the outcomes are meaningless other than fabricated emotional ties. And if a fan is betting on games to make a living where they have an emotional tie to one team, it would prob be a good idea to go seek out help.

Just so I’m clear, we are talking about the same Joe Moorhead whose offense scored 17 points against Peter Sirmon last week?

Nah, I’m good. We would’ve been a disaster with Moorhead leading us through a season with no spring practice. And we would’ve gotten a bunch of excuse making and talking down to the fan base along the way.

I realize that Leach’s salary is paid for by the university and if the university chooses to take money from boosters to assist in paying his salary, that’s their choice.

I’ll assume you make donations to the school so you help the program. Unless you’re donating 5-6 figures annually, you don’t matter to the school even though they lie to you to make you think that you do.

Just so you know the type of person you’re talking to, professional athletes and entertainers have no business getting paid as much as they do. Their contributions to society aren’t that highly regarded in my opinion. I think college coaches are overpaid. TV contracts are overpriced.

It sounds like we just have differences in our opinions.

I'm not a fan of a coach not giving a 17 about winning games for an entire season. It's pretty obvious Mike Leach has zero interest in winning games in 2020. Maybe that's because he thinks the season is a joke because of covid idk but it seems to me that he's just punted on the entire season and won't be fielding his real first offense till 2021. He keeps sucking *** all next year with his Texas qb and 58 new WRs and it's gonna get ugly on these boards though. Hopefully that doesn't happen and Leach decides to actually care about winning games then.

Shrader, Hill, and Sarkisian might have won the game. We can't know for sure. But Moorhead, no way.

Our defense was widely expected to be awful, and who knows if a DC other than Arnett would have gotten so much out of it. It's easy to see a world where under Moorhead, the offense is a little better (but not much), but the defense and discipline and much worse and we have a worse W/L record. We could have easily lost to LSU and Vanderbilt as is.

You usually have great logic in your posts but this one isn't it. Moorhead & Shoop had a #1 ranked defense with more than 50% of these players Arnett is using. To think they'd have a worse defense than him is idk man just dumb and that isn't meant as a slight on Arnett as he's been a great surprise this year for us. Moorhead's teams were tougher than this Leach team. Leach had -22 yards rushing vs Vanderbilt. You think Moorhead has a chance to lose that game?? Zero chance bro. Leach has been horrendous this year. No excuses in 2021 though when he'll actually give a 17 I guess.

This is the level of stupidity of some people.

Our defense has played well, but if you put leach as 2018’s coach, he comes out better. If you put that defense on this team, we probably win last night (we ran out of gas due to depth).

Leach needs to adapt and get better but it’s year 17ing 1 with half a roster.

We have one starter on defense this year that started in 2018. Half of our defensive starters this year were still in high school two years ago.

It doesn’t matter that he has 50% of the same players, it’s the players that aren’t here that make all the difference. That’s like comparing two men with 80% of their bodies still intact while one had a foot amputated and the other was decapitated

Just kind of curious why you post on a message board about sports if it doesn’t matter to you? You act like those who have an interested and an invested interested in something they enjoy is out there. Isn’t that why they call it fandom after being a fanatic? All you guys that don’t think it’s right to critique a coach must have no pride in what your team or school looks like. You must get your *** beat every day of your life and just like to suck.
