I’d say “The Pass”. Ain’t no speckled trout over on the Pan Handle. They say the water is pretty in 30A though..............

We like to stay at The Pearl in Rosemary Beach during April. Less people, great food, and cold drinks. We have at least one meal at Cafe Tango and make a day trip to Destin and spend few hours at AJ’s Bimini Bar!

Water is too damn cold that time of year. We used to go at that time but it just kind of sucked with the water temps.

Been there once, over 25 years ago. We spent a nice afternoon at the state park in Greyton Beach. We were staying in Destin. I much prefer it to Destin. That being said we haven't been back since. Other places and other experiences.

Other. Those places are too crowded these days. Just go to Perdido Key or Navarre. Save your wasted 30A dollars for a 2nd trip to the mountains.

If you want warm water and low crowds, the end of September is the time to go. Still feels like summer usually but at least on weekdays, it's not nearly as crowded. Possibly less crowded than April because of the potential for spring break crowds.

We stayed in Seacrest Beach last week and have stayed there for the past 5 years.

I have a few rules for going to the beach.

1. I want to be on the beach. I don't want to stay in a house that's 5 blocks away.
2. I don't want to stay in a big *** complex like a Phoenix.
3. I go in October or November.

To summarize - I'm not the fan of the beach.

No specks in the Panhandle? Get off the gulf side and into the bays and they are plentiful. Pull out a map and you'll see where they are located.

Blue Mountain or Grayton. Be sure to drop by the Grayton Beer Brew Pub, owned by A River City boy.
Also AJ's has some good night life and great steaks..

My choices as well. Just did AJs and RedBar Sunday and Monday of this week. RedBar has been rebuilt exactly like it was (with better bathrooms).

Quick story: Eating dinner at RedBar Sunday night, and Tom Glavine walks in and gets seated at the table next to us. Cool thing about MLB guys, hardly anyone noticed. Like Stockton being able to walk around Barcelona in ‘92. But MJ and Barkley couldn’t leave the hotel.

Grayton, Watercolor, Seaside or Rosemary? Other?

Where does SPS vacation at if they’re headed to 30A and why?

If you wanna go to a beach, that is better than any you will find in Florida, with no crowds, I have two words for you.

Little Cayman.

Shhhh, don't tell anybody about the miles and miles of open beach there.

Otherwise 17ers will ruin my fishing.
Bro, you don't have to worry, it's not like it's a secret. It ain't the beach a lot of these folks are really after, it's that Facebook photo.

Stay in Blue Mountain Beach and use each for certain reasons. We bike through each in the morning and go to each to eat but enjoy Blue Mountain for the location the most.
I wish you hadn’t mentioned in a public forum Blue Mtn but since you did —— Sally’s by the Sea in the morning, beach, Red Fish Taco for lunch, beach, Red Fish Taco for another margarita, beach and then Redd’s at night. For those who haven’t been to Redds, you just have to experience it and then crawl home and get up and do all over again for a week straight.
You’ll need a vacation to recover from your vacation!

If it HAS to be on the Gulf...Santiva. I'd prefer the West Coast and the Isles my self, Argyll and the Hebrides. No way to get THERE at the moment, unless you build in a two week isolation to your plans.

We went to Blue Mabel last time we stayed in Grayton. It was solid. Check it out next time.

No doubt, a lot of people go to be seen and post on facebook that they are at 30A and then sit back in the condo or under the shade and see how many clicks and " we are so jealous" reactions they get....I'm not knocking those that like 30a but for my family, the less BS to deal with the better. We usually go to Pensacola or FWB in October, the rates are cheaper and the beach isn't near as crowded, and I can watch CFB at any beach bar while the wife and kid swim or whatever....

We don’t get in the water much. We like to sit under an umbrella, relax, and sip our way into complete relaxation!

I’m in a little different situation than most. I can drive to Opal Beach in between Navarre and Pensacola any time I want to and experience a beach that is not crowded. I like going to 30A and bar hopping on a bike. We go to Grayton and there are times we don’t set foot on the beach, but again that’s because we have access to one all of the time. We also go to islands and beaches in Santa Rosa sound instead of Crab Island or the other packed boater destinations.

The national parks outside of P'cola are good beaches too.

Redd’s but no, Johnny McTighes? Gotta have a philly and tots from McTighes. Then walk down the street and get some $47 ice cream.

Any condos down in that area that allow bigger dogs like labs, boxers, etc?

Most of the rentals say pets but they say less than 30lbs. That’s not a dog. That’s a yipping ankle biter.

We usually just with family in Gulf Shores but we have talked about going farther east down to Rosemary or seaside but we want to be able to take our dogs with us so we don’t have to board them.
