The point is they’ve had more success than SC.. and also we recently spent 5 weeks as the #1 team in the country and played in the Orange Bowl so we’ve had more success than SC too.

SC hasn’t had a moment of being relevant since coming into the SEC.

That's true, but there's something that college football has that the NFL can never replicate. I'm a State fan for life because that's where I went. I might move to Detroit (God forbid) and be a Lions fan while I'm there. I might even buy my kid a Stafford Jersey. But Stafford can be traded and I might move to Chicago or Nashville or wherever. But college fandom is for life. Kevin Durant will always be a Longhorn, Dak Prescott will always be a Bulldog. That's what makes college football special.

But the fact that their in state rival has won a couple championships in the last few years puts them at the top of this dung heap

Lol Um Spurrier had 3 11 win seasons in a row from 2011-2013. I would say that’s more than a moment of being relevant. How many 11 win seasons has State had?

I don't know if 'hasn't had a moment' is accurate. They had a good 2010, beat Alabama, and went to Atlanta. They were the only non-SEC West team to beat Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, or Mississippi State that season.

oops, left out A&M

A&M is the better comparison w/ Jimbo, maybe even w/ the hopes of Manziel.
But the difference - and I've been saying this about SC for years - they have put forth the effort to really push them ahead, but it didn't happen.
SC has hired2 legends ( Holtz and Spurrier ) and had that massive stadium expansion as well. There is not much more they could have done with their $$ and still don't have a major accomplishment to show for it.
Lots of schools (like us) have had moments of hope, and similar dreams, but the difference is their amount of effort.

That’s definitely their best stretch. My memory of Spurrier’s time there is clouded by how he quit on the team and slinked back to Gainesville.
