Now provide some evidence for that?

Also provide some evidence on how what is going on right now is helping that one 17ing bit.

I cannot fix your problems or any other persons problems (black or white). I can help.

BUT IF YOU DONT TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR PROBLEMS YOU ARE DOOMED UNTIL YOU DO.
What you mean "evidence"?? Just reasons, bro

No, "defunding the police" is supported either by lunatics

or people that are using that (terrible) slogan to push reforms and prioritizing budgets towards other community support programs instead of burdening the police with a bunch of situations they shouldn't be involved in (which is an idea I hadn't thought of, and doesn't sound too bad to me).

Something I have a huge problem with is the militarization of the police forces. As I understand it, a big part of why that happens is that it makes financial sense to equip them with military surplus - which may even be an issue with *under* funding in some places. I'm also opposed to awful police policies like no-knock raids that kill innocent people year after year.

Police training is also a problem. Read this if you want an interesting inside perspective of what that involves, and why cops seem unable or unwilling to hold each other accountable: https://medium.com/@OfcrACab/confessions-of-a-former-bastard-cop-bb14d17bc759

He lost me with Colin Kap and social injustice and the flag.

Stopped right there. Won’t watch again Bc it’s not true.

Then you'll never understand the issue because you don't care...

And that is the problem. Too many people don't care.

Dorn, I'd like to hear an explanation of how the above post is "high-test casual racism."

Others have asked for an explanation too.

Are you going to explain it?

Do you legitimately need to be explained to you how blaming black people for slavery in America is racist?

It's not a grenade to lob; it's a factual description. It has long been a racist trope to suggest Black people are somehow equally culpable in their treatment in America.

What is "it?"

(The first "it," not the second "it.")

Thank you for at least saying this. Discussions can be built off of that, rather than the venom dorndawg spews.

Police work is dangerous and attracts adrenaline junkies and many times ex-military guys. It's not for the faint of heart. To me we need to pay them more if you want better performance.

Read about the Tulsa massacre for what happens when black people "surpassed their education options and suddenly had more money and opportunity and changed their situation for the better."

White people killed them all and burned it to the ground. Then built a highway over it.

The evidence that this is helping? Really? Might want to look around some.

We are not asking for "you to fix anyone else's problems" We are asking for you to stop being the problem.

Close. He ordered Bastogne to be held.

Arguably an even more pivotal decision. Getting to the end-goal ports was almost impossible, but a German drive that doesn't have Bastogne in its rear is going to have more success, potentially a lot more.

Wrong. He needs to respect the country first.

No, he doesn't.

Pain asked to hear their side. But he doesn't really.

It's an uncomfortable situation. I didn't like all of what he said either. It showed me ways in which I contribute to Systemic Racism

And that's the point. Now that I know, I can change. But remaining Ignorant because it hurts your feelings, makes you part of the problem.

To be fair, re: “defunding the police”, from what I can tell it almost always refers to giving less money to the department and more more to some other place. For example, I think in LA people are calling for 5% cut to the $3 billion dollar police budget. It doesn’t mean “give the cops no money”

I agree, and I think almost everybody agrees, funding and increased police training seems to be the a good step forward.

On the no-knock raids, I would assume those are for targets that are considered armed and dangerous, and the element of surprise is essential in successful raids. Innocent people are killed in them ,though. It’s a high adrenaline situation. More training in those scenarios would help, I would hope.

And routing that money to areas the police currently do, but SHOULD be done by others...

The fire department, for instance, may be the ones to deal with drug-overdose calls. Mental health professionals could respond to distress calls more effectively. The money diverted from the police departments may then be allocated toward social and youth programs, health issues and job-creation efforts.

Just like this guy said in 2016
https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/07/11...e-asking-cops-to-do-too-much-in-this-country/
“We’re asking cops to do too much in this country” said Brown.
“Every societal failure, we put it off on the cops to solve” said Brown. He listed mental health, drug addiction, loose dogs, failing schools as problems the public expects ‘cops to solve.’

Disagreement all the way around. I'm not ignorant, I'm not part of this "problem".

The George Floyd was proof of one thing - that some cops killed George Floyd in a criminal way. It did not make me any more or less racist from where I was before that (which was 'not racist'). It did not represent anybody except those cops.

Back to the point - American citizens still need to respect America. The flag represents that. Until Kapernick does that, he will not be listened to by a large part of America.

This is the problem though. No one really wants to get to the root of the problem. Then once they actually have a good statement/thesis, no one wants to ask WHY.

In simplistic terms, it’s not abt racism. It’s abt the socioeconomic standing of black people as a group.

When asked why most people scream racism.

YOU CANT FIX RACISM. Some people are racist and some aren’t. Black, white, Hispanic, asian, etc.

Why are blacks committing more crimes than any other race in America? Bc the Majority are low income/poverty level.
Why are blacks mostly lower income? 2 things can be fixed by black people with very little help and even with systemic racism.

1. Don’t have children early and when you do make sure you are married. This is pretty much a statistical fact.

2. Graduate high school.

Why isn’t everyone starting with the low hanging fruit? The easy ****?

BC ITS NOT ABT HELPING BLACK PEOPLE.
Here is someone that will talk about the root of the problem...

I'm not calling you racist. I'm saying you don't care about Racism because it doesn't affect you personally. Which is the problem.

I'm glad you see Flags as symbols of something. Now do the Mississippi Flag. And Confederate Statues.

Liar.

You ignored it, and blamed it on them being disrespectful, and inappropriate and ruining your enjoyment of sports....

Matter of fact, you still are going all those things...
