I did well with Lowe’s, Home Depot, Eagle materials, visa, chevron, draft kings, (plus a few others that are doing ok, and my royal Caribbean, Boeing, delta, United have big upside and are having decent returns. I had some vanguard mutual funds bought literally a week before the crash and with some savings I had. Crash happened then I decided to get active with my trump check and tax return. Over the last month in a half, I turned $ 5,700 into $6900 last I checked. I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s been a fun substitute for sports and helping me dig out quickly from my mutual fund disaster.

After today's 461 point (close to 1500 in the last two trading days) rise in the Dow, I'm at 100% of the highest point of the year. Have to wonder how long the market will continue to rise.

I also broke above my high mark from February. As Bulldogs, we should expect a market implosion any day now..........

The houses in our neighborhood are selling for what they were before this all happened. One family put their house up for sale and had an offer in less than 24 hours.

HAHA. I don't follow investing, like at all, or Bitcoin, but this is hilarious. All my friends that do the bitcoin thing are defiantly brain washed.

I just checked mine and I am
Up about 10.2 percent in my IRA. Amazon, Visa and and Boeing stock have made the biggest difference. For BA at the bottom in the IRA and it has doubled. Dumb luck I guess

My robinhood account is up 47% over the last month. I had a pretty good position on Nikola before it and VTIQ merged. Got out too early though. Should have held that until yesterday.

NKLA was so sweet

In at $35 and stopped out at $75 on the way down. Shoulda been satisfied in the high $80s but I'm not gonna cry over it with that profit. I actually really like the company but still think it's got some correcting down to do.

Tesla had a market cap of $2 billion in 2010 and had already delivered 1,000 cars. Nikola has delivered 0 cars and already has a market cap ten times that.

The thing that I question, they formed in 2015 and still have only 4 employees....what’s going on there?

And today we got what our fatalistic minds expected - a drop of over 1800 points. The analysts say it was due to increased coronavirus cases.

Just like anything else: You sell it (or spend it, which is selling). However, if you're selling bitcoin I hope you're selling to buy other assets like stocks/real estate, not to hold cash for a long period of time.

If you want to know how YOU (the investor) is actually doing and take into account your timing and cash flows (dividends, funding the account, etc) look for what's called "Time-Weighted Return." That'll give you your actual performance. Dividends count as a % gain and deposits/withdrawals do not effect the % figure.

Incorrect. Time-Weighted Return is performance from an initial contribution to previous days close. Money Weighted return is the more accurate measure based on multiple contributions to previous days close. The absolute indicator is Relative Performance, which measures style vs indexes. You also need to be aware of Total Return vs Price return. The difference is whether you reinvest dividends. Educate yourself at investopedia.com.
