Common sense says wear a mask. There is no reason not to. It increasingly looks like there is very good evidence to do it.

So do you wear masks in your car? At the park? While you exercise? If your answer to any of these is no, you're being intentionally obtuse.

Engie needs a study

Where is this "increasingly very good evidence"? I'd like to read about it. Scientifically and mathematically, of course. So it can reaffirm what you call "common sense".

"The mask catches the big droplets" -- yeah, so does gravity. Lest we all be wearing face protection every time we step up to a templeton trough awaiting piss in the eyes. So what percentage are these different forms of masks catching? What percent of expelled virus is getting hung up there? To what extent are they changing the viral distribution in the air? Those are the actual numbers that I need to see before I rush to comply with a directive that's changed 3 times already. A directive that's being put out by people that would love to see our whole culture modified in a cold and distant manner in order to curb diseases -- people that have felt that way for decades -- and finally have the podium they need for influence. Yes, I question their motive. And also their view of the bigger picture that they accuse me of being unable to see.

"It's good, common sense so why would you not?" Because no one has explained a mask's effectiveness in such a way that registers in my little tiny brain I guess. Telling me that it works and is a good idea just isn't going to cut it for me. I'm sorry. It's never been how I am wired. Show me how it works and to what extent. Scientifically and via the rules of physics. I reserve the right to change my mind and viewpoint with compelling ACTUAL evidence. But no one is providing it for me. Just the same inconsiderate toolbags in the grocery store blocking the whole aisle and moving at a snail's pace while refusing to get out of anyone's way calling me an ******* back here on the internet for my lack of consideration for them. And around and round we go.

Additionally, I haven't been within "6 feet of a stranger for a prolonged period of time" since this whole deal began. Hence no "contacts". But go ahead and provide the science and we'll see where we end up.

Knock yourself out.

Again, I don't need the above to tell me that if my masked face were lined up next to an unmasked face and we both coughed, I'd feel a lot better about my hacked up filth covering less distance than my unmasked neighbor. That includes heavy droplets that may succumb to gravity quickly and smaller particles that have a chance to hang out in the air for a minute for other folks to walk into (doesnt even matter I've left and we never get within 6 ft). Obstacles, friction, physics, whatever. A mask is a nag to a virus' mobility outside of my body. If we don't have a vaccine (which isn't perfect, nor is it expected to be - I know you understand it's for herd protection and not fool proof individual protection) and this is the next best practical thing to slow a virus down a bit, the mask makes a ton of sense.

Do you need viral counts now? You are marching down the road that this virus isn't contagious at all if you want to be thick on that part too. I respect you wanting to understand, and I wish we did have all the facts laid out iron clad, but this is a really silly battle to fight. It's so damn easy to just toss on a mask when you share an inside space with others.

My point was that this person was wearing a mask to protect herself from harm, but engaging in reckless behavior (on cell phone while driving) which was much more likely to cause physical harm. I never meant to imply that the mask caused the reckless driving.

It's astonishing that there are so many tough guys afraid of things now. Man up snowflakes. We still are THE nuclear power.

She still was wearing a mask. That's more than YOU will do to be helpful to your fellow man. You to humanity, you are own your own.

What's the point in this response?

If there are some moron dorks out there that wear condoms on their limp dick to, you know, "be prepared" (that actually might be a movie plot or beavis and butthead episode), it wouldn't make me any less likely to wear one if I were to actually nail a known lady of looser morals. One idiot's actions doesn't make a good idea bad.
