So, the CDC has been adamant in their assertion that it's not a man-made virus. But according to this article, getting it to jump from bat to human, appears to be have been studied in a US lab at some point 5 years ago. So maybe the CDC and conspiracy folks are both right. I saw on BBC last night where they did identify the horse shoe bat from China as the culprit. Lo and behold, this article discusses the US studying the horse shoe bat in 2013 and a particular SARS like virus that those bats carried and how to mutate it. And, Wuhan bio weapons lab had been studying the horse shoe bat as well. One can opine that in 2015, we saw the danger in all this studying and we pulled the plug on it. Maybe the Chinese kept moving forward with it and here we are.

I think the scientists all agree that it's likely a bat virus, that was passed to another animal (pangolins are the popular culprit), and then we're transferred to humans.

"Intermediate Horseshoe Bat." Remember that name. Hopefully someone with an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder and an incredibly high level of curiosity and a researcher's drive to ferret out facts from fiction, along with an ability to write journalistically, will answer this question: In the fall/winter of 2019, could one find any Intermediate Horseshoe Bats for sale in the Wuhan Wet Market? If not, where would one have found Intermediate Horseshoe Bats in Wuhan?

Dont have links or anything, but Tucker Carlson was quoting a report/paper from some Chinese scientist(Maybe from Taiwan??) that thinks Covid19 did indeed originate in that Wuhan lab and likely escaped/leaked. No, not manmade, but from research bats/virus from that lab.
I was busy and couldn’t pay very close attention.

ed: I believe that’s what Schmuley is referencing above.

As someone who went down that rabbit hole a couple of days ago, I strongly advise you NOT to google terms associated with any of that unless you've got guts of steel.

Yes, some of the images of soup bowls with "bat garnishes" are .... off-putting.

I never understood why people felt that “definitely not man-made” somehow disproved the idea of human foul play.

I don’t think foul play was being alluded to. More accidental than anything. Still doesn’t give the Chinese a pass, or a reason to keep the wet market open. Eventually there will be a pandemic that’s going to be a real killer with all the bad ingredients, and it will probably start there.

Fair point. “Error” would’ve been a better choice of words on my part, than “foul play.”

And it’s not from Taiwan. It’s from the mainland.
I wonder how Botao Xiao is doing today?

ed: err. This doesn’t sound very scientific. “In another accident,he quarantined himself again because bats peed on him.”

There are like 6 buckets in a 360deg view. Odd I that it's about 5 more buckets than I would ever think a random picture of a Plaza would have, but it's not like there are dozens of buckets being carried.
A **** ton of luggage though...which makes sense.
