What better place to solve the problems of the country than a MSU sports message board? I'm in agreement, those huge threads with everybody yelling at each other are a pain in the ***.

It really does make it less fun. It's like we all agree that the world would be a better place if Ole Miss lost its accreditation and the campus was converted to an ITT Tech satellite campus. We all can take some subversive joy in the idea of that not enough bad can happen to that piece of **** school in Lafayette County.

Then somebody says "yeah, and maybe they can get Nancy Pelosi/Donald Trump to run it into the ground"...

Now, we've taken a group united by the knowledge that Ole Miss is really just a stain in the upper left side of any map of the state of Mississippi and changed them into a group divided over which one's political leanings are a stain on the history of America.

It just gets boorish.

Or will that get you in trouble?
[h=2]Let’s put it to a vote[/h]
Put it to a vote, are you crazy? There is nothing more political than voting!****This brings on more questions. Are we going to use paper ballots? Are we voting online, do we trust online voting? Are you worried about Russian hackers? This idea is about as crazy as not serving beer at ballgames!****

I am very comfortable with the fact that I am always right and anyone that disagrees with my POV is wrong in the most horrible way. Therefore as long as it doesn't fall into serious "I want to punch that asshat in the face" commentary, I don't care and can just ignore it if need be. I think the proctors on here do a good job of locking things getting out of hand. I am of the we are a community and there is nothing wrong with having respectful discussions in any community.

It’s really simple. Have grown up conversations and you can talk about it but the moment there’s **** throwing it’s getting locked up or deleted.

I think it's a natural outcropping of a community. SPS is a community of folks who feel like they practically know the personalities that post here. It's like a group of dysfunctional friends that never meet in person and like to discuss everything. This is basically the group of dudes who meets at the local McDonalds every morning for breakfast, talks/argues about everything. Does it again tomorrow. Except the analogy falls apart in many ways, but you get the general idea. It's inevitable.

Totally agree. I actually wouldnt hate to see an OT forum, or at least a political forum.
I could see the traffic there exceeding the main board during down months.

Ok, I'm not that old. I quit after W. Thats when things started to progressively get worse, rhetoric wise.

I would back it up one election and say it's been since the 04 election. The forged Bush service documents CBS didnt verify and took to air was awful. And the swiftboat campaign is unforgivable. That shitshow of lies was so bad it created the now well used term 'swiftboating' even.

Since then, it's been a freefall.
And to anyone who wants to point out it was bad before that, yes it was, but it just doesnt seem like it was on the same level.

Your going to change zero minds on the Internet.
“Oh sick meme/burn bro guess I’m a Republican now” has never happened.

Got a feeling if it was anti Trump you wouldn't have said a damn thing
