I am all in on Napier or judge with great assistants. My take is what if it's a high profile coach at another school that no one is even speculating.

I have mentioned him before but am always told we can’t touch him. Throw our money at Luke Fickell and make him say no.

I just think Cohen is not gonna take a gamble and is gonna throw big money at some big name somewhere. No one will see it coming

Luke Fickles bio looks a lot like Bill Clark. Someone pointed out Bill Clark has never coached outside of Alabama.

It looks like Fickle has never coached, played or lived outside of Ohio (except 1 year playing in the NFL for the saints.

He was born in Columbus OH. Played at Ohio State. Has coached at Akron, Ohio State and Cincy.

Is that a knock on him? Does he even want to leave?

Maybe Urban Meyer wants a new challenge and a change of scenery. A guy can dream, right ? Sarkisian is intriguing to me. How old is Bob stoops? Would he leave the xfl gig? Excuse my delirium infused rant.

I like Clark but Fickell’s resume blows his away. The highest level Clark has ever coached at is C-USA. Fickell spent almost 20 years at one of the Top 5 programs in the country, including one year as head coach, and is now having a ton of success at as G5 coach.

Sure, the never been in the South thing is a concern as it was with Moorhead, but his resume is fantastic.

I am going to go with Jeff Monken. I don't think it's Billy Napier at this point, those media guys like Brett McMurphy don't stick their necks out like that for nothing, I tend to believe them before elitdawgs blowhards.

Urban would never happen but it would be a great FU to UF.

We would all love to believe that. But we believed that once before and we got burned. Cohen will never do anything that makes sense. By the time this is done, we will all be scratching our heads and hoping this is not another Joe Moe situation. He allows the interview and presentation to hold too much weight. He has to see the big picture and does not do that.

And if nobody like that gets hired he's covered because he didn't name them in the first place and they didn't get hired anyway. Top notch reporting there by Steve "Run DMC" Robertson

I’ll say this, if it’s Jeff Monken (and I don’t think it will be, he loves it at West Point), then you will not see a tougher team in the SEC than what he will put on the field.

Why would Urban Meyer want give an FU to UF? He left there voluntarily after having unprecedented success (for himself and the school), and his former top assistant is the current head coach.

Did I miss some drama in the intervening years?

Don't see it because that is what got us where we are now....

Two years ago Cohen, feeling his 'Smart guy oats', did his homework to find THE got-it-guy that was on nobody else's radar. He bet the farm on him and it blew up in his face. Look for our well singed & sore AD to stick to a more conventional candidate this time around.

I'm Team Monken. We're never going to recruit WRs so we might as well just run the damn ball every time. It's the one thing we're historically good at on offense.

Fickell is a damn good coach. Ohio State entrusted him with the program for an entire season, until fellow alum Meyer was hired on. My father-in-law is a big OSU alum, and thinks Fickell will be the next HC there after Ryan Day is done. I've heard Zach Smith praise his recruiting prowess on several occasions. Not sure if he'd have any desire to leave Cincy, but by god I'd throw a large sum of money his way and make him turn me down. He is easily my favorite candidate for the job, assuming he'd be interested.
