Does the current underground system of burner phones and bag men just shift to the legal practice of paying for the use of player likenesses?
Every Bank in Alabama is currently holding open auditions for new spokesmen.
Car dealerships in Oxford are doing the same.

If I owned a retail business in Ms. the last thing I would do is put only players from one school or another on my commercials...no matter where my allegiance was.

There literally will be no method of paying a player that can't be justified now. Open the floodgates.
Not exactly. It seems like there are going to be rules in place that prohibit it until you’ve gotten on campus so it will stay out of the recruiting process. And It sounds like the NCAA is going to put a rule in place that all of it will have to be reported to the universities. So bagmen will still have to go undercover during the recruiting process. But not sure how it will prevent verbal promises with local car dealership owners and people like that
It means Texas is going to start recruiting better than Alabama....Texas is going to profit big time from this with their massive fanbase. So does that mean Alabama is going to recruit better than us now?
It will be harder to “raise red flags” now for a player. Let’s say a player for the tide who grew up in a housing project is all of the sudden rolling thru T-town in a brand new red challenger with new rims......well what do you expect, he like a lot of other tide players is a paid spokesman for this and that, nothing to see here.... no way to know if the money for the car came from the Bryant Bank ad or the bag man, there’s just not.

Probably. The AAU circuit handlers won yesterday. Regulations will surely be attempted to mitigate it. But as a poster below said...."rules lulz". Of course we are guessing as to what the landscape will look like.
The big losers yesterday could possibly be the athletes. Thats the crazy part in all this. And considering the endorsement money will come from private money, the universities also won because they aren't paying the athletes. The private money will be. Private money isn't going to want to pay all athletes. They just want to pay the big time athlete. I feel that is a possible scenario in this.
All of the debate is premature until we start seeing the implementation proposals. But as said earlier in this thread....rules lulz. These next few years will be interesting.

The AAU circuit handlers were almost certainly losers yesterday. They are going to get pushed aside by more professional agents.

Are yall not aware of the IRS and state tax commissions? If not, heads up, they're kinda noteworthy for checking up on sources of income.

My guess is the schools won't be allowed to set up the payments directly or through their known boosters. Otherwise, you may as well just let everyone put the players on salary and pay them directly.

I imagine the first thing different will be the "free autograph sessions" we have now.
