This is true. He hasn't had very good WRs to throw to until he got Cooper, so his numbers should go up, but he's also had a very good defense and run game to help him the past couple years.
... Talk to any TRUE Dallas fan and they'll tell you he holds on to the ball way to long and doesn't have good pocket awareness...

He’s not a top 5 quarterback. I would take Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger, Mahomes, Matt Ryan, Rivers, and Russell Wilson over him. But top 10? Obviously. Also, he’s gonna be top 5 in a couple years when 2-3 of those guys retire and/or production drops off with age. Never thought I’d see the day when some State fans argued that Dak isn’t a top 10 QB. He’s worth the money. And lol at Kirk Cousins being better.
That would probably show up under come from behind wins. Where does he rank in those? How many games has he put the team on his back and won the game like you see Rogers, Brady, Brees, etc do on a regular basis?
This is ridiculous. I can give you Ben, Stafford, and Wilson. The other names you posted we will agree to disagree. Rivers is a cry baby punk who has been playing in the NFL for 38 years and never won ****. I can’t believe he doesn’t get punched in the face at least 4 times a season. Cousins and Watson? WTF? That’s crazy talk. The names you included on your “argue” list makes me wonder if your football knowledge comes from playing fantasy football. Tyrod Taylor? Are you 17ing kidding me? That is just downright offensive.
Well part of it is I'm not a Dallas fan. I'm a Saints fan. I want to see Dak do well. It is good for State, I just thought we speaking objectively here.
So in the same sentence, you admit to part of it being you're not a Dallas fan, and then say you're being objective?
Look, I get it. I think we tend to overvalue Dak as State fans. But he's doing a pretty good job. He's not just a starting QB, but arguably one of the highest-profile starting QB positions in the league. He walked into a situation with a lot of high expectations and a lot of frothing "experts" looking for any reason to **** on him because he "wasn't an NFL QB."
I'm proud of him.
Talk to any TRUE Dallas fan and they'll tell you he holds on to the ball way to long and doesn't have good pocket awareness...at least not yet.
I notice you left out any rushing related stats. What about 4th quarter stats? I don’t know how other QB’s stack up on those individual lists. Are they all higher than Dak in each of those categories? Did you consider how many come from behind wins other QB’s had?
Personally, I think it’s premature to include someone with 1 year of experience. Mahomes was awesome last year, but let’s see how that holds up. I’ll take a wait and see approach with Mayfield as well.
The college qb’s you listed don’t impress me as far as NFL talent, except maybe Lawrence. Tua is already injured and they get to play on teams that have more talent at about every position than 90% of the teams they play.
In SPS fantasy league I got the 2nd highest draft grade.... (2nd Lettuce Patch league started this year)
Also a Saints fan. But outside of the top 3-4 guys in the league (Brady, Brees, Mahomes, Rodgers), I think you could argue that 5-10 are mostly subjective. I’m not even a State fan per se, although I do root for them when they’re not playing USM. I just like Dak. When Brees retires, I foresee Dak taking up the mantle of “most likable” NFL QB. And since I’ve conceded that the QB rankings are mostly subjective to a point, I guess there’s no way to say that you’re wrong in your opinion, but I don’t think most NFL executives, players, coaches, or fans would agree with you.
That would probably show up under come from behind wins. Where does he rank in those?
Don't get this at all. You would rather side with the billionaire owners and let them keep padding their wallets? I hope Dak squeezes every penny he can out of Jerry.Bigger picture, I want these salaries to get put in check.
So your best friend and his family = the entire fanbase of America's Team. Gotcha.
Here's 15 that are for sure better:
Mahomes
Roethlisberger
Matt Ryan
Jared Goff
Aaron Rogers
Tom Brady
Phillip Rivers
Kirk Cuousins
Deshaun Watson
Drew Brees
Matthew Stafford
Russell Wilson
Cam Newton
Carson Wentz
Alex Smith
You could argue he's about as good as:
Nick Foles
Jimmy Garoppolo
Tyrod Taylor
Joe Flacco
Baker Mayfield
Derek Carr
Andrew Luck just retired too and he was for sure better.....yet Dak wanted to make more than Luck??
ETA:
A guy they could draft with a better skill set....are we talking a guy who would likely be in the 4th round or overall better skill set, because that one is easy: Trevor Lawrence, Tua, Jalen Hurts, Sam Ehlinger
Oh man the "you're great at parties line," haha.
I'm super jealous yeah that's it.
Stafford? Cousins? Alex Smith? Tyrod Taylor? Flacco?
You cannot be serious with that clown show list.
There is not an NFL fan anywhere that wants any of those guys over Dak.
Not even going to get into the mention of Andrew Luck....no idea where you were going with that one.
Cam Newton is also not necessarily better, especially when you consider intangibles. He has a career passer rating of 86.4, compared to Dak’s 96.0. Carson Wentz has similar numbers to Dak, and hasn’t stayed healthy. So no on him as well.
Out of Big Ben, Brady, Brees, and Rivers, probably none will even still be playing at the conclusion of Dak’s first long term deal. So putting them in the conversation is pointless as it relates to whether or not Dak deserves Top 10 money now, because that investment is going to be for the level of play exhibited over the next 5-6 years. Dak is going to start surpassing one or two of those guys THIS year, in all likelihood.
That leaves Mahomes, Ryan, Goff, Rogers, Watson, and Wilson. Maybe Baker Mayfield joins that club eventually. So yes, when it comes to the known QB’s that will be capable of delivering Top 10 level performance over the next half decade, Dak is 100% in the Top 10.
Okay, then do you care to explain why you're so worried about NFL salaries going up?
Here's 15 that are for sure better:

It won’t be wins or anything that factors in rushing. I’m guessing he uses “best looking deep pass”and also specify what metric you want to use to judge.
Because I watched Dak a lot and saw him get sacked and/or strip sacked a lot last year holding on to the ball too long. Talk to any TRUE Dallas fan and they'll tell you he holds on to the ball way to long and doesn't have good pocket awareness...at least not yet. As I said in this thread he may develop though. Hopefully he does. someone else in this thread said they same thing.

You basically agreed with me with your last sentence after you did the analysis in your head. Dak is not a top QB in the league nor should he be paid like one.
Lol I like the Saints and really no one else at all. I pull for Dak but I'm not glued to every Dallas game. Dallas was one of my least favorite teams before Dak. I hope they win a SB only for Dak and bc it helps MSU.
