Just for reference, Roy McLain was a poster that posted on Gene's Page. Back in 2002/2003, he began posting about having knowledge that Ole Miss had received a letter of inquiry from the NCAA. He would claim to know that the letter was real and it was in Khayat's desk. A lot of people bought into that. It was very similar to what we are seeing today with Ole Miss: we were staring at NCAA sanctions, our football team sucked, and we felt like Ole Miss was behind our NCAA troubles (which was largely true), while they had Eli and were trending upward. So, all we had to hang onto was hopes of the "letter".

Of course, there was never a letter. Roy was a good dude, but he quit posting, or at least changed his user name. We hired Sylvester Croom and wandered in the wilderness for five years. Fast forward 15 years later, and Ole Miss is finally getting their comeuppance. Roy McLain, wherever he is, is finally vindicated.

It's funny because we already know exactly how we respond to an inquiry -- in the very recent past -- with the same compliance people still in place.

We sat Redmond while actually under inquiry. It's obvious in hindsight that he was good enough to play immediately and would have eased the transition away from Banks and Slay and probably been good for at least one extra win in 2013. Sure could have used him against Auburn, LSU, and aTm.

If we were truly under inquiry, Leo absolutely would not be playing.

It is going to be a sad day when the Grove starts losing parties. With all this going on, the undefeated party streak is in jeopardy.

The Bear faithful were already posting about how they still never lose a party on Facebook after the LSU loss this past weekend...
