Jones Twitter Space call shortly

No, he’s just going to reiterate what everybody already knows. We’re in the process of offering Drew, his family was in Lexington today, and we should know for sure tomorrow blah, blah, blah. Which is perfectly fine, but people just need to relax and stop hitting refresh. So much click bait.
If I'm Drew and UK offers me $10 million+/year, I'm giving half to Reed to come back and help me put the program back in its proper place.
Drew is the new coach.Matt was the last to know.
Rowland said something interesting, he said oats was the first call but bama’s AD didn’t want to renegotiate the buyout, so that ended the discussion. Oats himself never said no
Well then they never intended to pay it like they claimed. BS.
Why would that matter? Couldn't we afford the existing buyout?
It's sounding like this is done. Jones is speaking on the search process in past tense. Update: No, not done yet. Said expect Drew announcement tonight or tomorrow.

MJ said UK had contact with Hurley, Donovan, Drew, Vogel, Oats
MJ:
Vogel was apparently reached out to as well.
Oats had issues with timing, and AD would enforce buyout.
Some level of interest with Hurley and Drew. And they have talked to both.

That seems like an odd request to me. What incentive would Byrne have to restructure a contract just to make it easier for us to take his coach? Keeping him from being hired by another school is kind of the whole point of a buyout clause like that.
Drew is not completely a shoe-in, but we will have a decision tomorrow either way.
Matt is changing his story now on people that were contacted.I guess it's hard to keep straight.
No **** it's like half price, then again Mitch was never going to fire Cal. He's getting his bible study buddy who he can tea toddle with. I guess it's wait a few years til Mitch is gone and hope for real change.
He's now not saying it's not done. Said if Drew said no, Hurley will be offered $11-$12M per year. Said Miller and Beard are a few other names if we have to get to that point.
Said Beard, Miller and 2-3 other secondary candidates have been contacted as well
Why not do that first?
Yes, but maybe Oats didn't want to have Bama do it, of maybe he takes a hit doing it. Who knows.
I've got a serious question. Why do Matt's twitter spaces sound like he has an amazing lisp?
Because it's an extreme long shot. And UConn might drag their feet with buyouts, or negotiations to match.
If there is Hurley interest why TF are we ending this then. It makes no sense.
Do you understand how fog of "war" works? Information changes rapidly and all the time.
maybe these headphones i have on add in this lisp.
Matt doesn't know ****.I don't dislike the guy but some of this is BS.
Some interest. That could mean anything from extreme interest or "that's nice"
So Matt doesn’t know anything but you do? What is BS? And how do you know it’s BS?
Why aren’t they offering Hurley 11-13 million a year right now? I mean seriously Mitch. I won’t be mad at getting Drew but I’ll be pissed that he’s passing on Hurley to try for him first.
I never claimed to know anything but if you believe everything Matt says you are special needs.
