To me, if you'll ok with Drew's results, seems like you could get the same from a guy like Pearl who's better suited for the job, IMO. Not saying Pearl is my current choice.

This is a clear upgrade, I also don’t understand why Mitch isn’t interested in pursuing any other name. I also don’t understand why so many people are acting like the name is Bryce Drew instead of Scott Drew. Dude made Baylor relevant, won a national championship, and was possibly a pandemic away from winning another. I think he’d do better at Kentucky than at Baylor with all the resources available.
He’s not bad. Very boring style and personality wise. He will have really good year every once and awhile and then some double digit loss seasons. Very Meh if it happens. Zero charisma. And blander than rice cakes.
Maybe their combined prayer power will vault UK to the top.

If it’s Drew I will support him as our Coach and to be honest he done pretty well at Baylor. It would be interesting to see what he could do at UK with the resources we have.
I would really like someone young. As long as he can coach, recruit and stop the out of bounds play under the basket then I am all for it. We just need to get back to winning. Nothing flashy, just winning. Hurley would be my first choice but he may not be up to the task. He has it made at UCONN.
Drew has 11+ losses in 4 of the last 7 seasons and in 6 of the last 10
He is a better Coach and he can recruit almost as good and nowadays you don't need a recruiter you need somebody can buy players.
The main thing is Scott drew has talent evaluation skills. He knows good players. He has the bench coach skills to get you to the tournament championship.

I don't understand why everyone hates this. Drew has taken no name colleges, everywhere he has been, and turned them into perennial contenders. Imagine what he can do at UK. Arguably the greatest college basketball program of all time.

He also has never won the Big 12 tourney and only twice has tied for the regular season title. Been past the first weekend of the NCAAT once since 2017.

I agree. Not what BBN needs right now after the past 5 years but Barney is likely to show his true colors on this. He has trouble reading a room and is out of touch with the fan base.
Big red flag for me is two very good players transferring out in separate seasons- Matthew Mayer and LJ Cryer. Strange.

Drew would be a fine hire. I don't believe this story though. I don't think Mitch is making this decision solely and Cal hasn't even left yet, "officially".

Hey, it is what it is if that is the way it went. Would be surprising to me but could be worse. Drew would do good here. He has proven capable with portal and NIL.
