Pat Mcafee show is incredible. Start listening now.
Thank you, very much. Just listened to my first episode. While not the most reverent podcast I listen to, I'm dying right now...
As far as podcasts go...
I've been listening to them for over 10 years, and I subscribe to well over 100. I'm a bit of an addict.
I have a binge approach to them. I find a given interest (Specific sports team, political view, travel destination, technology, or faith-based), subscribe to every podcast I can find related to it, and then binge listen to scratch a particular itch. For example, I subscribe to 4-5 podcasts that are related to my favorite baseball team. I'll listen to those, all in a row. Next day, I may want to binge on tech podcasts. The next session, I'll binge listen to State podcasts. I stream, and seldom download them.
I used to run scripts on my Mac, to download streaming radio programs, convert them in to podcasts, and add them to iTunes. THankfully, more radio programs have embraced placing their archives in podcast form, and maintaining RSS feeds.
My favorites, that are of a somewhat general nature, and in no particular order:
Beyond Yacht Rock - The guys who did the Internet TV show Yacht Rock, and the "inventors" of the genre, talk about music.
No Agenda - Adam Curry & John C. Dvorak - News commentary, media assassination, crackpottery.
Travel with Rick Steves - Podcast of weekly radio program. Guests and Calls about mostly European destinations
This Morning with Gordon Deal - Used to be the Wall Street Journal morning news radio show.
Shutdown Fullcast - The SB Nation types irreverently discuss College Football, on the most casual of levels.
The Solid Verbal - The best College Football fancast, as far as I'm concerned.
Outside of these, I listen to a lot of Baseball, Mac, Disney, Chicago Cubs, New Orleans Saints, and Catholic Church related podcasts. (Did I mention I was a podcast addict?) . If you are interested in any of these specific topics, I can pass those along. But my post is already egregious in its length.
