I watched the game last night and Williamson did very well. Oddly enough the guy going against him was insane with his breaking stuff and once I found out he was 34 I’d venture to guess that was Merrill Kelly’s best outing ever!

That said Williamson is exactly the guy you slot 5th in a rotation and hope he shows up every 5th day and eat 6 innings every outing win or lose.

I’m not even sure how anyone could dislike him regardless of average minor league stats when since being called up he has done well enough to remain that 5th guy in the rotation while 60% of the starting rotation is hurt.

-Yeah people (tourists and locals) die on golf carts yearly these days down in the…you guessed it! Florida Keys!

But people also treat them like a get out of jail free ride and think they can drive shipwreck drunk with no consequences. It’s very annoying.

I’d be willing to bet they put a hard cap on those soon at least outside of neighborhoods.

-Eating hot ramen inside isn’t a big deal, but watching a 4 top eating outside at First Watch yesterday was some odd ****.

Now watching someone suffer and sweat through a cig in this heat is next level self-hatred. Can’t be much more miserable than that.

-Bad news for you guys hating this weather, it’s been like this and will be like this every August forever, this ain’t nothing new.

-Started that new Zach Bryan album at the gym, good stuff so far and if you listened to some of him on the Rogan podcast dude is literally just a next door bro that was in the navy and got famous. Smoking heaters and drinking bud light, dropping eff bombs and just wanted his dad to be proud of him.

-I too enjoyed Swamp Kings. I don’t need everything to be a hit piece. There are already like 2-3 docs on that stuff and if you want to know more abut Hernandez, there are at LEAST two docs just on that.

I smiled a couple times and laughed here and there, you know just enjoyed a big time FBall doc.

Krazy, Merrill Kelly has been an ace all year.

He has 10 wins, a sub - 3.00 ERA, averages more than a K per inning and has hurled 15 quality starts. I had never heard of him before I drafted him in the late rounds of a fantasy draft this year.

Would never have guessed he was 34. Apparently, he spent some time pitching in Korea.

Well I found out last night myself! Dude had a reverse slider, 12-6 curve, only hit 94 on his fastball but dropped that change up into the high 70’s and was hurting hitters with it.

That reverse slider pitch was just not right against righties.

Brandon Williamson shouldn’t even be a major leaguer right now. He was awful at AAA, and basically got called up out of desperation because the Reds had almost no other options. This is a team that started the year with Connor Overton and Luis Cessa in the rotation (neither are even pitching professionally right now) then gave 21 starts to Luke Weaver.

Even after a disastrous start, he still has an ERA better than league average and has been outstanding in July and August (3.00 era).

There are teams with $200 million payrolls that scout the market at the trade deadline looking for pitchers who aren’t even as productive as he’s been. And he’s a rookie.

There is literally only ONE diehard Reds fan in the world who isn’t thrilled with his season, but if anyone wants to complain that like our 12th best starter option had only been a little above league average, be my guest. #maga

By definition, yes, but even the commentators last night were saying it’s more of a reverse slider because it doesn’t break to drop, it breaks L to R sideways.

It was funky and he threw it only 4-5 times and every time the batter was perplexed.

-if in an isolated/golf course neighborhood it's whatever...but lots of those in my "urbanish" hood, eventually some drunkass is gonna get killed.
This. It's a mile and a half two miles, longer on the side streets, to get to Summit Country Club from my house. Some dude in my hood thinks he's living on Sea Island, carting his 3 kids under 10, to and from. SMH.

I really dig that new Zach Bryan album, listened to the whole thing while timing today. Kid just has it.

Tiling sucks but I’m getting pretty good at it… until I don’t do it again for 5 years.

* Shohei Ohtani may need Tommy John surgery for the 2nd time in 5 years. I just can't get over how terrible Arte Moreno is. Instead of trading this guy for a huge haul of prospects, he hung onto the last 70 at bats of his Angels career, and even unloaded the bulk of his own talent in order to "double down" on the season. His team sucks, and Ohtani was leaving no matter what.

They've gone 5-16 since the trade deadline and now sit 10.5 games out of the wild card. Nice work, idiot.

Sentimentality has killed many a sports organization. The one organization I saw avoid it -- with a massive set of balls -- was STL with Pujols. That's a big part of why they're a model MLB organization, as much as I hate to admit it.

We get it, you really dig Zach Bryan. That’s the second post stating that fact in the past few hours. WE GET IT!

@wcc31

I must have made it then. Going cart shopping in next few weekends. We do live in a gated lake community with clubhouse, pavilion, beaches, pool, and 18 hole golf. Kinda sent contained with own police dept. They have food trucks , concerts, and other activities every weekend so being able to jump in cart instead of packing everyone in truck is easier. 75% here have carts so keeping up with Jones’s and whatnot.

- Been spending a lot of time in NH for work, interesting state/surrounding area. Have a place in Manchester I’m at the majority of the time.

- Diners in the Northeast are fantastic.

- Maine beaches are dope AF.

- 45mins from Boston…spent a weekend earlier this month. Honestly, it’s cool…but was expecting better. Loved Fenway though.

- Not a great nightlife scene in NH, unsurprisingly…but casinos make up for it. Have hit 2 jackpots and another $1200 win in the last month.

- Lass moved in with me a couple weeks ago.

- In Lake Winnipausakee tonight for a Smashing Pumpkins concert on the lake.

Maine in the summer is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. Vermont is cool, too.

Good news is weed has never made anyone any percent MORE gay than they already were!

Sorry @WynnDuffy but the UP contains the weirdest people I’ve ever come across. We had a gal live with me and my ex in KW and her and her family were STRANGE.

They told me, after they found out I wrestled, their son won a Michigan state wrestling championship and I was like wow that’s impressive. Come to find out he won the UP state wrestling championship. They said they don’t drive to the mainland of Michigan for the real thing but it still counts… nope sure doesn’t.

They were also in town when they opened the first roundabout in the UP and FREAKED OUT! They were saying no why?!?! We can’t figure that out!

Strange people.

College days, banged a cool chick who went to UMaine. She ended up a world class chef and is now running a couple of her own places in Portland.

Northeast has some great beaches And outdoors stuff. Done the whitewater rafting on Penobscot and Kennebeck in Maine. Vacations in Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket, Cape Cod. Rented a house in Newport RI for one summer. Block Island is a cool little watering hole. Problem is getting through all that traffic up I-95.

Team Wynn. Haven’t t met a lot of peeps from Maine but everyone of them have been complete ********.

Their state is beautiful though. So is UP.

Still have soft spot for Blue Ridge (NC/VA) and Shenandoah (VA) area. Not a lot of upscale type places but very undervalued

The Blue Ridge from Staunton all the way down to NE Georgia. That’s my sweet spot. To me a desirable “big city” would be Roanoke. Preference would be a place like Franklin, NC. I don’t want it too bougie. Need a real place.

Roanoke is trying to become Asheville. Hope they keep their own vibe but they seem dead set on it.

Old man, “get off my lawn” take…

There were a lot of 18-25 year olds at the Smashing Pumpkins concert last night…almost all were dressed in hippie grab and danced around like it was Bonnaroo.

I don’t particularly care, but they clearly don’t get early 90’s grunge/alternative.

Day 3 for little league fall ball and we are ready some live game action. My kid might be behind in reading and behave as you’d expect for #6 out of 7, but by gawd he is all in on baseball and F everything else!

- Meanwhile, 7th grade football was cancelled because of mud. WTF. Per usual I pissed off a few moms today in the text thread by responding with a “wow” as they all expressed their concerns and thanks for not making their kids play in mud.

Also got a “good luck” text from the coach afterward.

- In an effort to stop gambling this year I’ll take Navy +20.5, I mean I’d take it if I weren’t betting.

- Titans D looked fast on the field last night. I guess that is as good as I can hope for in preseason.

- Cubs just can’t win when the Brewers play. It’s damn frustrating!
