- Not going to lie- I owe the Chinese an apology about the sun bear. Thought for sure there was some shady commie **** going on. My bad.

- I don’t know what was in the air this morning but there was one helluva crow and turkey party going on in my yard when I woke up. And that’s not a sexual euphemism. Had like 10 crows and a dozen turkeys out there.

- The conference realignment stuff genuinely depresses me a bit. Not “can’t get out of bed” or “shooting Turkey” depression, more like “smh missin the good ol days” mild depression.

- Messi’s wife, like Messi himself, is an all-timer.

- @B.B.d.K. I assume we’re headed to Indy November 2024?

- Have a wedding this weekend that should be interesting. It’s my wife’s youngest friend- mid-20s, so prime fun wedding age. But we don’t know anyone and wife can’t drink. So I’ve decided I’m just going to let it eat and really work the open bar, but otherwise keep to myself.

- Gotta love 20s wedding compared to 30s wedding. In the first, there are constant shenanigans/flirtation/interaction between the groomsmen and bridesmaids. In the latter, there is no interaction whatsoever.

- You have ball dogs and you have stick dogs. My boy Blue is a stick dog, happiest with his belly on the grass, chewing. He could do it all day. Almost therapeutic watching him.

- Early baby name leaders - Dad list:

1. Eva
2. Maya
3. Olivia - never liked it before but that John Mayer song “Something Like Olivia” has me loving the name

I clearly remember jamming out to Country Grammar at a high school team basketball camp during the summer of 94. We were at Catawba College and between games we sat in the dorm commons area and watch MTV on the big screen. Problem with that is obviously it didn’t come out until 2000. It’s one of those Mandela effect things like the Shazaam movie for me.

Started a brisket on the Egg this AM. Feeding 25 today so if this thing doesn’t work out I guess we’re having mayonnaise sandwiches cause there is no plan b.

Where did Bernie go?

Sittin Sidewayz is the ultimate Paul Wall track.

Country Grammar was a phenomenon the first week of school my freshman year of HS. I remember the seniors ALL blasting it peeling out of the school parking lot before I headed off to soccer practice. Nelly really is a big nostalgia guy for people in their late 30's/early 40's.

I like the uniforms fine, but I cant stand that wildcat logo. Take that off & the actual word "KENTUCKY" & those are up there with Ole Miss & LSU for best in the conference. Just no need for the KENTUCKY. For some reason makes it feel like an ode to the basketball team. We are the only blue/white school in the SEC. Less is more when it comes to football uniforms.

Had an entire week off from baseball for the first time since probably November. No games, no practices, no lessons. It was unreal. That will all change in a couple of weeks, but for now I am enjoying it immensely. Boys are both doing new teams, so hopefully the schedule is a little more family friendly. But probably not.

The week before school starts is always a cluster at my house. My wife is basically a stay-at-home mom all summer & then this week hits & its complete chaos. Is this week nuts for all teachers? Gotta be. I can't imagine the anxiety I would have, being off for 2 months then having to go back to work doing THAT. The day after coming home from vacation is bad enough.

Speaking of, going on our first real vacation in 2 years this fall. Santa Rosa fall break. Will there be a CAT 5 hurricane? Most likely. But I stand by my belief that there is no better time to visit the emerald coast than early october.

Been watching a lot of Home Improvement lately. Tim & Jill F*CK.

- Kids going back to school can’t happen soon enough. Supposed to go shoe shopping this weekend and my 3 boys in school couldn’t care less. 7th and 8th grade and at those ages I cared enough that I was told “those shoes could get you in fight because people are stealing them” and didn’t even blink before blurting out “cool”.

#southside

- NFL action last night! I’m ready for a few trips to Nashville this fall.

- That plant in Etown is just silly from the I65 view.

While I’m sure that I’ve “heard” a song or two of his, I couldn’t name nor recognize one single Nelly song. Or that other gas station dude, Cisco I think it was.

I’m also fairly certain that I couldn’t identify the correct artist of any rap tune for that matter. Snoop, Ice-T, NWA, etc.

-Listen, I said Hot Take and I stand by that.

-Nice little series for the Cubs to gain some ground. Now let’s see if we can try and not get drug by the Braves.

-Pics to rent the house coming the 23rd. Confident I’ll have all the renos done by then.

So many people are like, “Why wouldn’t you just want the cash!!!!!??????” That’s a problem with my generation, it’s all about instant gratification.

Nah bud, I’d rather have that house for free and sell it down the road for pure profit at 60 when I only have ten years left.

-Just checked in for my flight, always adds a nice little skip in your step for the day when you do that.

A lot of people forget that Lynn Bowden fought an entire team, including their coaches before he put in an all-time performance against VaTech.

Rizzo has been getting sh*t on for months and come to find out his brain has been CTE'd from a concussion suffered in May and apparently nobody had the idea to check him out. Tough to hit a 98 mph two-seamer with movement when your vision and reaction time is muddy.

Nice to have the beer option in Commonwealth, but I'm still a flask guy. Large Sprite, nachos, profit.

TOUGH look for T-Will and i hope its a bad day for their fans. 10 years seems like a lot for $5M in financial crimes, having zero idea how that all works in the judicial system.

Footjoy is on a real heater lately

This summer cold is BS. If effs with your mind, just when you think you are through the other side you wake up feeling like ish again. Wife and I both had for over a week now. Been tricked 3 times thinking I was over it only to get kicked in the nads the next morning.

If Vern takes his ball and goes home because no one wants to read "I Hear Ya!" every third post, that's the biggest ***** move since Cal not going on KSR.

Do better. Be better.
Very well, but I was just trying to bring some action to this mundane summer. And let it be noted that I never dissed the Reds. As a matter of fact, in response to Willy's post, I said the Reds were better than the Cubs. I just wanted to spice things up in here.

But I'm a Cubs fan. My first favorite player was Keith Moreland before being quickly replaced by Andre Dawson. Last year, I was able to take my parents to a game at Wrigley. It was a first for us all and a very special moment and memory for me. I'll tone it down, but I won't tune out. This place needs me.

Those of you with younger sons, if you think Daddy Ball and insane coaches are bad in youth league/travel baseball, you're in for a real treat when your kids start playing Youth Football. Jezzzzzzzzus.

Why's that kid first string QB? Well it's the coaches kid.
Why's that kid who keeps fumbling the ball the first string RB? Well it's another coaches kid.
Why's that kid who keeps making mistakes and tripping over his own feet the 1st string linebacker? That kid's dad is a coach on the older team.
Why is that kid who can't even run 5 yards without getting winded on 1st string? Well, his dad is cousins with one of the coaches.
How did they decide whos first string before even laying eyes on the kids? Well that's all done before practices begin and we see the team. We know who the performers are. (Rolleyes)

Maybe that's how county youth rec football is done these days, but it certainly wasn't in good ol Shelby County back in the day.

Just let my 7YO quit football to start fall baseball next week.

He will be behind but fall is better to start/learn in than being behind come spring.

The football coaches and parents were a sad sight and totally different than our experience last year in Flag or 5th/6th with the older brother.

If you can’t coach then write a check to sponsor the team. That should be good enough for a starting wide receiver spot. At least that’s how I remember it working.

Well then troll better because Bartman doesn’t even get considered as anything wrong with 03.

But I did enjoy watching that Marlins team also beat the Yankees.

Because of numbers, there is no bigger collection of meatheads than youth football coaches.
Feel sorry for the kids that have no options as these guys will be in charge up to and including high school, as some end up on staffs when their kids are old enough.
Sadly, this applies to most sports. Coach your kid until they graduate and then bail.
Ryle HS football used to be mainly dads. The Triple Crown Power Rangers they were mockingly called. (Think Noroton Commons)

Of all the sports, football is the easiest to catch up with/youth football is probably the least “necessary” youth sport.

-August-west is 5 years older than the average GYERO poster but posts like he’s 72, we’ve already been over this. Five years ago when he was like 43 he was talking about hanging out with his grandkids and whittling wood while skipping our games and watching American pickers. Pretty sure he had his first kid when he was 12

-Just left the Ohio State Fair. Jesus. Those carnival games are ******** too FYI. It’s a scam!

-Youngests 2 year birthday today. Planes theme. Man the time is a flying
