Yeah they arnt a bad team but when you cant block out and turn the ball over, it wont matter who we play, everyone will look good. We will just have to out shoot them too.
Only advantage we have is depth. I would drive to the basket until we get them into foul trouble. It's not rocket surgery.

Defense is the big missing part of this team right now and we can attribute a lot of that is inexperience. Most of these freshmens were just asked to score a bunch last year, not play defense.

Pathetic effort by Holman on the last play. Let 12 move him under the basket and then ran into Kegler and let 12 get a wide open putback at the buzzer. Inexcusable lack of effort cost us at least a chance at OT.
I'm sure everyone is going to **** all over me but howland's coaching has not impressed. To his credit, he is a hell of a recruiter, but I have seen little to none as X's and O's. what impact has he had from a schematic standpoint? Genuinely curious, because I don't see it and maybe with rays ****, it's not easy scraping the crap off the wall, but aside from his recruiting, what is happening that I'm not seeing?
8 true freshman and 1 true sophomore and IJ ready as PG. who's actually improved a shitload in two years.

I second every word you just typed. We need to deflate the balls before practice and get back to the basics. Age has nothing to do with fundamentals or running a basic offense, effort or physicality.
We are on pace to do exactly what most people expected us to do in nonconference play. I said in preseason that 8-4 to 10-2 before SEC play should be the expectation.
It stinks to lose, but ETSU is decent team. We play two really bad teams in our next two games before closing with what should be at least somewhat of a challenge against ETSU.
The sky isn't falling yet. We will likely win out until conference play and at 9-3 with a really freaking young team, I won't complain.
This was never going to be a tournament team so anyone who had those expectations is pretty delusional. Winning season/NIT bubble has always seemed like a more realistic goal to me.

So you are clearly an expert, explain to the resident dolt what is happening. Ready honestly shouldn't be playing as he scored zero points (his for real stat line) and committed multiple turnovers. Ready is a liability and I'm tired of seeing him 17 everything up. Our starting point guard didn't even 17ing score...
Ready shouldn't be at Mississippi state but it's who ray recruited and who howland was dealt with and the only senior on the team. But he's had some good games this year, this being his worst so give me a break.
I think defensively we have improved tremendously since game 1. Offense a little slower. The results trip by trip may not always show it, but we play really good individual and team defense and then we have a mental lapse that makes us look stupid. But the lapses are less and less frequent.
I get all that and can easily attribute that to ray, but I'm just tired of his selfish, low bb iq ********. I could have had a better stat line tonight and that is something none of us should be able to say.
I'm pumped to have howland on campus, but family can call family out...in that spirit, what is howland doing that brought teams to the final four in terms of coaching? Is his strength solely in recruiting cause I genuinely don't see much on the court... but I've never played high level bb.
