Yes we are really asking for 30-2.How about not 9-16 the worse season in history,first round to peacocks,second round next.Those crazy spoiled fans
9 straight sweet 16 or better, 5 elite 8 or better in 9 years, 2 runner up, this year still to be determined. He HAS to WIN ONE but if he does it's clearly better than Cal's best.
You know if we had alabamas season and just lost to SDSU on the s16 this board would be in meltdown mode calling for heads all the same lol.

I have said this 1000 times....the NCAAT is different than the regular season.
How many teams have given up 75 and won their game in this tournament? The answer is 7. There have been 7 games out 50+ played where both teams scored 75+ pts.
The game is still about defense. Yeah you have to be able to score, but not like some on here think.
Alabama relies on their 3 pt shot. They didn't at times this year but old habits die hard...3/27 tonight.

And the rims are INSANELY tight in the tourney which makes his style all the more hard to win it all with. And most final fours are in huge domes making it even HARDER.

Now that they are out of the tourney, maybe, just maybe they can now see fit to seek justice for the mother that lost her life.
I cannot speak for anyone else but my personal feeling on Oats has to do with style of play mostly. This has nothing to do with Cal. I hope Cal retires next year and we get a new coach. I just hope it isn't Oats.
I haven’t seen a single one. What I see is some very angry Calipari haters that can’t stand it when someone points out that some times it’s the players faults for missing shots….matter of fact, that’s almost always the case.

If you look at a guy who is an "up and comer" like Oats and he has achieved zero success in NCAAT and want him over a guy who is older, has done it before and is current coach I think some just tend to believe the current guy could change and fix it.
I believed this for a while. I don't really anymore. I think if the class holds up and he gets the guys he wants it will tell the story and he will either win or go home and retire or quit.
Personally, give me someone who has won something of consequence....
If the ultimate goals is winning the NCAAT then when she be getting someone who has done it well before or have a very serious feeling that the person is on the door step about to knock it down.

I think we all need to look into the metrics and be fair.
1. Not all 3pters are the same. Catch and shoot, 3pt off the dribble, un contested, contested, catch and shoot with the pass swinging from outside, vs catch and shoot with the pass coming from inside the paint to 3pt line, etc.
2. Taking a ton of bad 3's late in shotclock is not this amazing analytics.
Bama should have still handled them. If Oates wants to take the next step in his career then he is gonna have to advance in the tournament at some point. I mean, he’s basically Tom crean right now except crean has accomplished more
