This is just me but I don’t know how people can root for multipe colleges. I went to Kentucky and have lived in Kentucky my whole life, Kentucky is the only team I want to root for, having multipe teams seems way to bandwagony to me
I root for UK and WKU.

I will pull for any Commonwealth school not named UofSmell when they don’t play UK.

Anyone else? Depends on if they’re playing Duke, KU or UT.

I get that, but that’s like casual rooting, there’s some that have multiple teams

Unless you went to college there or happen to have a kid play for them I don’t see how you can invest in two different teams in any sport.

I graduated from UCF and could give two poops about their (pretty successful) teams. Only blue for me!

Not if you are an alum at another school.

For example, I became a UK fan in middle school when I first started watching basketball, it's our birthright in KY. But then I went to and graduated from WKU. Now when they play (rare) I am "all UK", but otherwise I root for WKU too.
And now, having lived the past 27 years within 10 miles of NC St (knowing they hate UNC even worse than we do), AND that my son will graduate from there in a year, I try to pull for them some too (although their fans have a big inferiority complex about UNC). So for me my UK fandom is 10 out of 10, WKU is say a 7, and NC St maybe a 4, most every other school is a 1, except UL, IU, UCLA, Kansas, UT are -10, and UNC and Duke are -10,000

This. I grew up a UK fan. Then went to WKU. I root for both because I have ties to both.

Everyone else’s like Murray or EKU is just a “Hey Kentucky school I want to do well”.

I get that know, it being a fan with no link to the school and liking multipe schools

I’ll try to catch a game or two of theirs if / when televised just to see how he’s doing. I expect they’ll be competing for the Big East by year #2.

And I’ll get hate for this, but to be completely honest on the Pitino subject in general: being a 90s kid having those mid-90s teams as my first vivid UK memories, I’d take Pitino back tomorrow if he were 60 years old instead of 70. Sure, he’s a leper… but we have one here now, too. And unlike ours, he’s one of those types that lives and breathes to win.

Tough situation for the Wuffies, 0 men's ACC titles in a major three sport in nearly 40 years. Irony is they ran off their best Coach, Herb Sendek. Of all the post-Valvano Coaches (Les Robinson, Herb Sendek, Sidney Lowe, Mark Gottfried, Kevin Keatts) Sendek got them to 5 straight NCAA Tournaments, 3 ACC Championship games (1997 L UNC, 2002 L Duke, 2003 L Duke), they upset defending Champ UCONN in the 2005 dance and went to the sweet 16.

The base was unhappy though because he couldn't break through against the Duke/Carolina wall
(8-38 combined vs both) and he didn't win an ACC title but he almost had one in 2003. State was up 17 against Duke in the ACC Championship game before Redick went nuts from 3 and Duke stormed back for the win.

Nice stuff to build on there though, it's still a program with 2 NCAA Championships (only 3 Final Fours but they won it all 2 of the 3 trips they went) 10 ACC Titles (3rd most in league history but none since 1987) they'll always be remembered as the program that (FINALLY!) dethroned UCLA from their incredible run. At least for a year until Wooden came back and won one more in 1975.

He also hates the program. Or at least seemingly what’s nothing to do with us. Man didn’t even take time to make a 5 min or less video for his former players when we had his teams at Rupp this season.

He’s a narcissistic prick. Sadly we’ve had a two of them now. Both with one title and lots of crappy feelings.

Ask the players who played for him here if all you say has merit

This board has been in a long slow decline much like our program for awhile now, but does anyone think that it's gotten markedly worse in the last month or so?
