Well, what's going to happen is these players are going to burn bridges with the people that are paying big bucks.

I know if I was the one that fronted NIL money to Sharpe, I would never pay out again as long as Cal is here. I'd call Cal and tell him to lose my number.

Heck, why would I pay any of these kids after what we have seen the last 3 years? That's just throwing money away.
Jacob Toppin sees himself in an AT@T commercial, and then goes out and shoots 1-7 in a 2nd round game.

Shaedon Sharpe sees himself in a Porsche commercial, and then decides to sit out the season.

This is hilarious. The Porsche dealer who let Sharpe use a car for 6 months has already sold him 2 cars since the draft. The dealer was happy that Sharpe left UK because he didn't have to lease the car for him for another 12 months.

I'm not even biting tonight. Last night was bad for multiple reasons. I'm never in a good mood when UK loses. In fact, if I were to ever do or say something very stupid and regretful, it would most likely come on a day UK loses. But that was yesterday and today was a new day. And hey, UK didn't lose today so it's already a much better day.

And just for the record, I have no delusions of being immune to the normal attacks that happen here just because I'm a moderator. My views are attacked with regularity here. It's the norm. And I will give as good as I get.
So you have been in a bad mood the last 4 years a lot? Hopefully Next Year will be better for all of us.

So what did the dealer get out of it? 2 sold cars?
The dealer is a huge UL fan. He is giving the players who will make it in the pros the NIL cars for use while in college. That way he has the inside track to selling them the high dollar cars during their career. The lease on the car to Sharpe cost the dealer around $5-6000. When they sell the $150K cars they make about 15K on the car. So the dealer is already up $24K. Once the players sign a second contract they buy cars like crazy.

That's great that everything was really easy. I'm an only child and the only beneficiary, but I had some cousins that started hounding me about some of mom's things, asking if I was going to get rid of anything, etc. They couldn't even wait a month after she was gone. I was still devastated at losing her. But probate was easy and like your wife, out almost no money. Thank you for sharing with me. I appreciate that. I hope your wife is doing okay.
It has been a few years and we still miss my F I L and MIL. Funny how some folks just show up wanting to get stuff. That happened to my daughter. Hopefully time will heal your heart and you can laugh at some of the good thoughts.

Thanks for sharing. I mean that. The good thoughts of my mom (and my dad who's been gone 25 yrs!) are what keeps me going. Yeah, when my cousin showed up asking about mom's things ,I just looked at her and asked..."Who ARE you?" My other cousins just started laughing and I did too(after I calmed down🙂). She left. Life and death can be funny. Take care.

Toppin literally went out and had 18 points and was one of two reasons we won against Providence the game after the commercial first aired.

Another to add to the ignore collection. Good job belly
You “liked”‘a post last night saying that “Cal was the cancer of the team”. Your unhealthy hatred of the man led you to selfishly make up a story to rally the troops by starting a thread saying he was gone. Now you are lying again, saying “my bad, bad info”. It’s that simple. But you can lie all you want if it feeds the beast that hates Cal for a living. Funny!

So Sharpe who plays in Portland is purchasing cars in Kentucky? For himself? For his family? And his family lives where? Anywhere near Kentucky?

Strange story. Not saying I don’t believe you. Oh. Actually yeah. I am saying that.

Here is my take on Wheeler...

At a major program (even one with a "players-first" coach) no player (not even a five star) just walks into the head coach's office to chat. Only the top two or three assistants can do that. The rest attend coaches meetings but only talk when asked questions (the way you would in a meeting with the CEO). As such each player (including the walk-ons) has an assistant they get close to. At least that is what I heard from walk-ons I knew at IU under Knight. And so when Wheeler was healing (again) in January and watching how things were progressing without him and looking ahead to the next class he came to the conclusion that he wanted to transfer someplace where he could play his way into a spot overseas. A logical decision. And so he went to his favorite assistant coach to talk about it. That coach went to Cal. I am sure Cal told the asst to tell Wheeler that he appreciated his honesty up front but that a guy not committed to the team would not play anymore. He could though be a part of the team and not look like a quitter, and should instead use the injury as an excuse.

That also made sense from Cal's perspective. If he let Wheeler play and it came out that he knew he transferring to a different program that would look awful if Wheeler had some bad games. It would likewise look bad to either have a guy quit or get kicked off for being honest.

This won't sit well here but a similar scenario probably played out with Sharpe except for his people telling Cal that Sharpe was going to be one and done if allowed by the NBA, and Cal felt betrayed but didn't want to look like he had been used or to make Sharpe look freightened to play. So he said he wasn't ready to play.

It’s pretty darn simple. They don’t come to Louisville to get the car. The player or his agent or rep calls the Louisville dealer and tells him exactly what the player wants. The dealer finds it and gets it delivered to them. It really pays off when the players get the second contract and start customizing the cars. He makes a fortune off that.

You can believe what you want, but don’t know why I would just make up some bs about this. You should see the Derby weekend parties that we have for all these guys.

We actually had people not understand this.

He quit because he didn’t want to play in a lesser role. Calipari let him handcuff the team to collect NIL money and not jeopardize portal recruiting. It’s that simple.

Wheeler should have been told to hit the street and walk back to Georgia. At some point you have to get control of your team and teach respect.

I’m sick of this clown act.
Exactly. Two years running.

Got a link to any of this?
You think to sold cars equals the amount of money they lost on paying him NIL money?
How much do you think that dealership actually lost on a car lease? How do you know they didn't just write it off as a demo?

You think Sharpe is going to just exclusively buy Porsches? You think the dealer is dumb enough to believe that?
That dealer us upside down on the Sharpe deal by a mile.

….it does seem odd that he’d still want to travel with the team and cheer on the players that he resented taking his spot though.
Probably quit, had remorse, and wanted back in. Cal tortured him by keeping him in limbo until the end.

Ok dumbass the players buy luxury cars from the dealer not just Porsches. The reps or players tell the dealer what they want and he gets it for them. He sells to tons of NBA, NFL, and MLB players.

You want the damn link, here it is.

It is amazing that some guys who have NO CLUE what they are talking about spew total nonsense and call out people that they don’t know, just because they don’t like the coach at their school.

You don’t have to apologize for all your bs. Maybe just unfollow me.

It must be nice living in fairytale world.

You’re assuming all this **** is going to happen and Sharpe, who obviously doesn't stick to his word, is just going to keep buying cars from this dealer in Louisville, KY.

I have some oceanfront property in Nebraska that I'm pretty sure I can sell to you.

It's very simple. It is the NIL dealer's IG account. A bunch of different makes and models of cars, some of which are in the 3-500K range. They all say from Blue Grass Motorsport which is his dealership. As I said, once he locks in a player it becomes a gold mine for the dealer.

He finds them any car they want and tricks them out how they want. He gets referrals to other players because the process is so simple. They call, they order, they ask for customization and he finds, customizes, delivers and he makes a fortune.

The Posche Macan that Sharpe used for less than 6 months cost the dealer about $6K for the lease. The dealer was ecstatic that Sharpe didn't play because it saved him another $12K and he started selling cars to him for profit. He has Bacot also which has turned into a disaster because he will be on the 3 year plan.

Not sure if true but IF…. True.

Then that would have protected Wheelers scholarship, NIL money and also protected his stock for being able to play overseas.
Maybe.
None of which Cal should give a flying f_ck about if he quit on the team.

How the hell does that prove anything beyond the dealer having the ability to trick out some high end cars?

How does that mean Shady Sharpe is going to buy his cars there?

How does that prove he doesn't feel scammed by what Sharpe did at UK?

Holy hell! Can you comprehend? I am best friends with the dealer. The dealer hates UK. He is only doing the NIL stuff for future profit. He is ecstatic that Sharpe didn’t play this year because he is a huge UL fan and as stated he didn’t have to pay the lease for an extra 12 months.

The dealer feels scammed by Oscar because he DIDN’T go pro last year and really scammed by Bacot because he is not going pro for the second year in a row.

He does it for future profit. He used to give all the UK players cars to use the day they decided to go pro to use until they got the first paycheck.

Why don’t you just keep believing that the dealer is pissed and scammed because you don’t seem to have the capability to understand the facts.
