The Steelers I grew up on was about defense and ground and pound run game, this crap they are doing now is pretty bad. That is one thing the Steelers have never really done and that’s jump in the free agent market to build their teams. They prefer to draft and bring them on slowly. I’m curious as to what strategy Omar Khan takes as the new GM, he’s been with the team forever so he knows what the steward about.Had no idea you were a Steelers fan. Dumb luck on my comment. Looks to me like Art Rooney II has a loser mentality and just wants to make money. His Dad wanted to win win win.

Anyway, back to my passion…UK basketball
Ha."Kenny won all those games"
Not since he accepted that job. 1. You have to question his decision making. 2. Once at U6 you suck for life.Poor KP too. They’re going to turn on him quick. Dude deserves better than that fan base.
True, but looks like UT did okay without him against Gonzaga. The transfer from TN that said Payne talked him into coming is probably kicking himself already.
Yeah, Louisville is not even close to as talented AND they're very young and very thin in multiple spots. Arkansas should definitely be concerned but they have more hope than Louisville at this point.Arkansas is talented but lost all that experience. They will pull it together to a degree but don’t see them making a serious run at the SEC title.
After watching our own football team s#%% the bed yesterday I don't think we should call out anyone else except for Stoops and Scrang.u6 football team scored more points yesterday than the basketball team.
Ditto. It's hard not to like KP, but I have a bad feeling he's not gonna survive for very long at Louisville. They're too far down, at least it seems to me. I just don't know if Kenny Payne can be "THE man" and rebuild from the ground up like UofL needs. I guess we'll see, but Cardinals fans aren't known for their patience. Losses like this one tonight are just unacceptable. How many of these kinds of losses can the Louisville fans stomach? There are more coming.
Davenport and KP have to be looking at this relatively insignificant game like it's their Super Bowl.Bellarmine will likely beat Louisville by 20-25.
I hope they give him more than 2-3 years to try and get things going. They are in a world of hurt right now and could be looking at a sub 10 win season. Like historically bad. I will say though, that when Cal came in he made that instant impact, brought Wall, Boogie, Bledsoe, etc.. to get things righted in year one. That's something you can do in Basketball. Payne doesn't have that name recognition to recruit like that out of the gate. but he should have hit the transfer portal harder and at least got some guys in there with some college experience, even if at mid-majors or lower levels. I know the threat of sanctions looms over their heads, but that's been looming for years and I'm not convinced any sanctions of substance will ever come out of it.I think Payne really wanted to avoid that near no win in situation but wealthy guys like Bridgeman talked him into it.
Those things and UL NOT being a Nike school is why I thought Payne would be crazy taking that job when his name first came up.That's something you can do in Basketball. It's not what we can learn, but what lessons we can teach them and their fans.Lmao. At what point is having UoL a waste of time on the schedule? What can we learn by winning by 40 against them?
I dont think its far fetched that they lose every game lol. They will definitely lose a ton a games. Chris Mack would have blasted that team yesterday and he is not a great coach. Payne just sits on the bench like a tired old man with zero enthusiasm, The bad part for them is he will be a nightmare to get rid of when the time comes. They make everything about race in the city of Louisville.I like Payne, but I will not be rooting for him at UL. Hope they lose every game, I get it’s where he played; but was a terrible move for your first head coaching gig. Hopefully he gets paid, then decides it best to go back to the NBA.
Louisville loses that gameNov. 9 against Bellarmine is UL's first official game, to determine the best college team in the city of Louisville.
I owe KP nothing and he owes me nothing.I hope Louisville loses every game but it's complete BS to make judgments about KP's coaching acumen after his only game coaching. Let's wait awhile before making pronouncements about how much of a success or failure he'll be. I think we owe him much for his time here. Louisville is going to be a f#cking mess for awhile. And pretty laughable to bring up Mike Tomlin as a failure when he has been the exact opposite his entire career. I can only imagine why you randomly pick him out of the hat
Bellarmine is gonna take UofL to the woodshed. Scottie Davenport is a coach and he will expose their lack of guards worse than a D2 opponent without their 2 best players.Nov. 9 against Bellarmine is UL's first official game, to determine the best college team in the city of Louisville.
I agree but Tomlin has had a ton of rope and time. Soon as Ben fell apart the team did as well. Brown/ Bell era was it for Tomlin.I’m a lifelong Steelers fan and I believe it’s getting close to the end of the road for Tomlin. They need so much right now to get back on track but I’ll watch and pray they win every game like I always have
But I also believe the Steelers organization has historically been successful because they didn’t fire coaches every couple years too

He won one & lost one. He’s never had a losing season & that’s one of the big reasons. Although, that’s about to change. Ben covered up A LOT of Tomlin’s deficiencies & he has been exposed the last few seasons. He is massively overrated. He deserves 100% credit for winning a SB & making it to another. But, he inherited an elite team that was loaded with talent on both sides of the ball & had been together for a while. Kinda similar to Tubby when he took over for Pitino. And, Tomlin hasn’t been so great since those teams broke up.He did win a couple super bowls, that's probably why.

Who?Some U6 fans think they are going to the Final Four, once the team clicks.
There’s waaaaay too much money in that franchise for them not to fire Tomlin. Steelers are one of the oldest teams in the league and are tied with the most titles. Mediocrity isn’t tolerated in Pittsburgh especially when the Eagles down the road are taking names. He won one & lost one. He’s never had a losing season & that’s one of the big reasons. He hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016 & has won only 3 playoff games in the last decade. That does not go over well for a blue blood franchise like the Steelers & it has worn extremely thin with the fanbase. But, he won’t be fired unless something catastrophic happens. Fingers crossed. But, us Steelers fans are likely stuck in football purgatory until he decides he’s had enough. And, it totally sucks.
Highly likely.Hopefully he gets paid, then decides it best to go back to the NBA.
Must watch tv.Bellarmine is gonna take UofL to the woodshed. Scottie Davenport is a coach and he will expose their lack of guards worse than a D2 opponent without their 2 best players.
I completely agree. And, based on what I see, most of the fanbase has had enough & wants to move on asap. I know I do. But, money isn’t the problem, IMO. It’s the Rooney Rule. I hope I’m wrong, but, I just can’t see the creators of that rule firing Tomlin unless he does something egregious, or, hits absolute rock bottom. There’s waaaaay too much money in that franchise for them not to fire Tomlin. Bellarmine is a solid team. Should’ve been allowed to play in NCAA tourney.Bellarmine is gonna take UofL to the woodshed. Scottie Davenport is a coach and he will expose their lack of guards worse than a D2 opponent without their 2 best players.
