I don’t think he will be a superstar at any point in his career. He doesn’t have the mindset for it. He’s not a killer.
Jury still out but he might be a team chemistry killer. In my head I'll always believe that was part of our downfall last year. I know we had the injuries and that contributed alot. But Sharp funked up the mindsets imo.

He’s always been an absolute specimen in practices and HS. But so was the Dragon. That next level is no joke so we’ll see what happens.
No he wasn't. Whitney was never a ball handler and looked very mediocre against talent even in highschool. Sharpe looked like the best player on the floor in those scenarios

Not even close to the same players. Sharpe is Elite at shooting the ball and has much more skill.
Yeah the dragon did all that in HS and practice as well. He was a can’t miss prospect. Sharpe is an elite athlete but can struggle to create his own shot at times. I also think he will struggle with handling the ball in a 1on1 shot clock winding down scenario.

Sharpe is a really solid ball handler.

Sharpe also isn’t a “ball handler” at least not an elite one. He vaulted the rankings and then never played against actual non HS competition again. That has made him and his family set for life. But let’s not act like there isn’t a chance he never comes close to his hype.

The Dragon was never a good shooter nor did he have a skill set and could handle the ball even close to what Sharpe does. The only comparoisons they have is both are Elite Athletically.

I had forgot about him and was looking forward to next year until you brought him up.

Like him or don't, to me that doesn't matter. After last year I don't know how any Kentucky fan isn't a little curious. Is he going to be rookie of the year hype or will take a couple years to reach his potential.
I agree with this. I am curious to see if he lives up to the hype or not, but I'm not invested in him or supporting him like I do former UK players in the NBA.

That’s fair as am I …I didn’t even know who Sharpe was until I came across this board in January …then all that hoping he would at some point play for us …so I got invested …and now my curiosity is up and has been all summer …I live near Orlando and I was hoping the Magic got him but when they got the top pick it was too risky to take him at 1 though

Let him without sin cast the first stone
So you're the guy who publicly thinks it's wrong to make a moral judgment on anything?

When you get cut off in traffic, you're okay with that?

When someone cheats on your friend's wife, you're not throwing stones?

Your pastor preaches heresy, and you keep those stones in your pocket?

And so on and so forth?

I would say you easily have the highest post vs. Sharpe mentions ratio.

The truth is we don't know anything about him other than grown ups have made decisions for him and when he plays in front of people he is apparently great. That's all we know. Everyone's guessing about his mind set and stuff, he is 18, adults are telling him what to do still. We don't know what kind of person he will become yet

I'm definitely never gonna become a fan of his. I don't have time to dislike him either. Will be curious to see how he plays and what's he is capable of in the league. I'm just glad he gone and we can move on.

Despite a lack of recent tape, Sharpe still possesses immense potential that forced the Trail Blazers to take him high in the draft. He has since impressed his teammates in open workouts over the summer, including six-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard.

I think the talent is off the charts. When I watch him work out, everything is just easy for him. … But I really like his disposition. He is always calm. When I watch him, I always think, ‘What if I was 18 or 19 years old and I had to just jump onto an NBA team?’ I don’t know what that would look like.
I’d probably be out there looking crazy but he fits in and he is just trying to find his way. I think the types of questions he asks. He listens, he shows up every day. I think when you take the talent and how he is as a person, when it connects, I think he could make a huge difference for our team.

This is probably true, but I will say this: adults didn't control me when I was 18. Did they control you? It's insane to me that Sharpe evidently had no say-so in the manner. I'm not sure I entirely buy that.

On a broader scale, is this current generation of young men the slowest developing male generation of all time?

Discussing things actually relevant to Kentucky and college basketball. Not wasting my time with children exerting their status. Don’t worry about me Morgie. You got that market cornered.

Who cares …I like the kid …he’s gone now …if you wanna hate go for it
We care, clearly. Kid was one of the biggest travesties in program history and there's a lesson for Calipari to learn from the mistake, so it matters that the fan base never forgets.

If you don't like it; well, that's just too bad because we're never going to stop discussing it. Never.
