Bro, quit riding my coattails. I already said that like .3 seconds before you bro. Duhhh

Also, I forgot how young Knox was. Speaking of Knox, anything on the younger Knox and the Kitty Cats?

Edit 2: still been super super busy. Still planning on reaching out soon!
Saw Karter made the Team USA 17U cut. He's already 17 too--so at his age, his brother was enrolled/getting ready to play at UK where he's in Summer prior to his JR season of HS. Knox will keep UK around in this recruitment and I'd expect UofL to be involved to the end too due to Kenny Payne really recruiting Kevin strongly/relationship he maintained with family.

Tre Johnson getting cut was surprising. Many in attendance felt he was the best player on the court yesterday.

A lot of UK targets still in the final 18 though.

It would be a great duo....but different. Few come into CBB like Fox/Monk--but agree with the latter part of your take, think they'd have a far superior supporting cast around them.
I’m just salty about UNC still lol. Monk is one of my favorite cats all time and fox was a perfect match with him being lightning quick. Too bad Sacramento is sucking fox’s soul out of him and monk likes the booger sugar a bit to much. Dilly and DJ would be different but that class I’d say they’re both top 5 players possibly top 3 and that in a weaker class that would set UK up as title favorites. Although im not expecting both, it would be exciting.

I wanted to mention the Tre Johnson thing but there isn’t a thread about it so I left it alone . That is weird how folks were raving about his performance but then he ends up getting cut . I know Wagner didn’t go due to playing with Camden over the weekend but he made the next cut .

It's not going away because the faster the top guys can get through CBB and go to the NBA...they will be off. I agree that we need to bring back the Straight to NBA for the top prospects in HS and then rest go to CBB--I'd eliminate the G-League Option altogether, it's an embarrassment. It's going to get young players who are sent down to learn to play that enter the Draft, but the option now is painful for the guys who don't make it. They can't go back and play in CBB and aren't making enough $ to make it. NIL is a savior for CBB and has proven to be to this point. It's kicking the living snot out of G-League head to head.
i would love to see a straight to the NBA or two years removed from H.S. (20 year old option)
but as we all know that is 100% dependent on the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement

Me too him and Wall always get mentioned for best mixtapes of all time . I thought he would have lasted longer in the NBA but that Achilles tear seems to have finished him . He’s a fashion designer now.
OJ mayo had the best mixtape ever before wall came along lol I still love that guy

Jaden hardy literally lost millions by going to the g league. He goes to college at ucla or Uk probably still top 15 draft pick. Now he’s praying for late late 1st rd
Did you see NBA gifted him a Green Room Pass too? They have Scoot Henderson (fantastic player) and Leonard Miller right now on G-League Ignite. That's it. Hardy would've been much better off, but that's decision he's going to have change the narrative. After 1 yr, I agree 100% and say it was a mistake. But we'll see how it ends up. Sure seems like UK recruits/priorities get effected by G-League more than any program though--guys who had strong chances to be Cats if they went CBB route:

Jalen Green
Isaiah Todd
Daishen Nix
Jonathan Kuminga--or if he chose Duke-bumps another to UK in class
Jaden Hardy

Yes--USA Basketball Politics. I hope Tre like Xavier Booker who was cut from 18U team is reminded who has a lot of sway in the selection too. LOL

Yeah OJ had crazy hype man . I remember thinking him and Bill Walker would team up in college. It’s crazy how these HS duos don’t end up at the same college .

Well luckily for hardy the first contract, while nice, isn’t nearly as important as the 2nd. It’s in his hands now to improve his game and compete with grown men, he looked super under developed in g league this year.

I can’t blame green worked for him.
Was never high on nix.
Todd I haven’t kept up with.
Kuminga was a beast coming out I’d like to have seen him play college ball but he just won a ship and is playing with a great young core in GSW so he’s set up well.

Ala Romeo Langford and cal. Cutting him was pretty much the beginning of the end of him coming to Uk. Let’s hope it works the same way again :D

Him and Patterson at UK might’ve been my favorite “duo” ever. I was also young and impressionable back then.

Right, but just saying it sure seems to be impacting the elite of elite UK targets more than other schools.

Hardy's a guy who would've been overdrafted if he went the CBB route. Also heard with some of those guys the NBA has told teams they need to take them/keep them for the G-League to get promoted as a top option. Now with NIL, it's going to be hard for G-League to compete so it should lead to best for players which is straight to NBA or CBB--no other option for them.

Ala Romeo Langford and cal. Cutting him was pretty much the beginning of the end of him coming to Uk. Let’s hope it works the same way again :D
Cal actually kept Langford on the roster. He was "injured" and didn't play as much which pissed him off but he was one of the more overrated guys in that class. If his name was Mike Langford, he'd have been evaluated a lot differently. That was a strange offseason/recruiting cycle. Cal had 1 guy choose UK who played for him (Immanuel Quickley), then lost out on Lou King/Cam Reddish and Langford who all played on that team. Zion was invited to tryout/didn't and that was end of UK in the recruitment basically. RJ Barrett destroying them in Semifinals was a rough watch too. Barrett had arguably the only awful visit I'd heard of with UK in the Cal era. I was told by friend before the visit ended he'll not be going to Kentucky and they had no chance. Was so odd to hear the visit sucked that bad. Heard of guys going elsewhere or just taking the OV to make sure of where they are going...but his visit was awful. Lonnie Walker had a bad visit due to being sick but Barrett didn't like anything about the OV/was awkward interacting with Staff/players.

Cal lost Bol Bol with the cut down process. Then again. Bol got injured early in year and didn't do anything for Oregon.

If Coach Calorie whiffs here, or the dude pulled a Sharpe, he better make a FF at a minimum or the heat will be too hot even for his fat@ss.

I forgot he went to HS with Ppatt too. It’s sad to see what became of OJs career .
A lot like Monk and Tyreke he too liked the booger sugar too much. Which if I had a dollar for every cal player that got kicked/almost kicked from the league I’d have 3$ which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened that many times.

Read it on this board multiple times they don’t want to play together.
i have read several quotes where they do not mind playing together

i asked some of the posters where they were getting their info on "they do not want to play together" not one of them could provide a link where either player has said that

Ahhhhh you are correct. I just remembered the cal being HC was considered good until it ended up turning bad.

Not really . He reminds me of a right handed Brandon Jennings in terms of his swagger but Rob seems to be more efficient. I’ve heard someone compare him to Darius Garland .

I don’t have any type of connections but I don’t think this an either or situation with Wagner . They both can play together. Watching them in AAU and neither one of them has been the primary PG for their team . Both guys have played off of the ball. If Wagner ends up in Louisville I don’t think us going after Rob had anything to do with it and I don’t think they will give up on Wagner after Rob commits on Friday.
Thanks.....Dillingham and Sheppard would be a nice backcourt.

Easy to see why you forgot, Langford kept making up excuses as to why he wasn't playing and came up with a "back injury". Cal played PJ and Diallo a lot and to this day I'm still trying to figure out why people like anything about Josh Okogie?? One of the biggest reasons for the Wolves improvement this year is the current staff benched him.

That trip ended UK's chances with Langford (no big deal IMO). Lou King was a guy that I thought UK made some traction with but ended up at Oregon. Reddish was a heavy Duke lean going into this, so losing him wasn't a surprise. Zion not attending the Trials. The one year Cal coaches Team USA.....and Zion skips trying out. lol

Ima ruffle some feathers here but DJ and dilly would be better than fox and monk. They also would have a better surrounding class than just bam tho so that helps
To quote Robert Duvall in True Grit

"That's bold talk for a one-eyed fat man"

I'll have to see it. Fox and Monk were dynamic. Dominated games. Surely hope you are right.

Fox and monk were electric. Top players for UK no doubt. Dilly is just very impressive with his all around game and shooting. Believe he’s shooting 40+% from 3 and even draining nba range regularly. If he can hit that clip in college with his bag he’ll be nearly impossible to stop. DJ is DJ we all know why he’s great. They also benefit of playing in a much weaker class than Fox/Monk so it’ll be easier for them to transition into dominance imo. Fox/monk had to play some tough teams that year.

I'm with you, just need to see some proof 1st.

Fox and Monk are the best backcourt in the Cal era imo. Nobody could stay in front of Fox. Both were unreal athletes. Oh the days gone by.

Yep it’s Fox and Wall for sure were the best guards to play here. Amazing the guards we’ve had.
