I’m the same way. I have no problem with Brooks coming back, but he should be behind Toppin. Toppin is just better and has more upside. Cal’s use (or lack of) of Toppin in the second half and OT of the St. Peter’s game borders on utter stupidity. I’m also worried that Cal will play Brooks more than he should.

Of course it counts. But that 2014 run is the exact definition of a team that got hot at the right time. And a player in Aaron who hit clutch shot after clutch shot to keep advancing. It was some of the most fun I've ever had watching a UK team, but let's not discount how much the team getting hot and some luck factored in.

After the game Cal himself said after looking at the first half stat sheet that he should’ve played Toppin more in the second half. Seriously? Was he actually watching the damned game in the first half or did he suffer a stroke. It was clear as day to anyone with a functioning brain that Toppin was our second best player on the floor in that game. So yes, I could’ve made a better coach’s decision than Cal in that respect. I can easily see a Brooks return pushing Toppin out the door. That’s a huge net negative for UK. If I were Toppin, I wouldn’t stick around to sit and watch Brooks continuously screw up, while not being given the PT needed. The guy has massive potential, far beyond Brooks. He needs to play…
If Brooks returns, I wouldn't blame Jacob if he transferred. It would suck for us, but it would be the right move for him.
Honestly, if Toppin got Brooks' minutes last season, he's probably getting drafted this year. He got stymied by Csl's love affair for Keion.
And Collins. That is what the handful of guys making misleading comments about returning players and supposed hypocrisy are missing. Cal has a blindspot for Brooks and Brooks has not improved much at all in 3 years. If he comes back it could reasonably cost us two higher ceiling players because they will know that Call will play him major minutes.

There was a game towards the end of the season where brooks was net -11 and Cal played him most of the game, while Toppin, Collins and Hopkins sat. What coach does that? I mean, you have some damn good dudes sitting on the bench and you're going to just let Brooks go all BJ Boston?
