Is there a plan here?

It'd been a while since the OP had a stupid post, so guess we were due for one.

I'm not happy with Calipari in recent years, but don't think he's sitting around eating Twinkies. The staff is notoriously tight-lipped, so I'm guessing they have a plan in place for top targets.

They probably have some sort of plan, but it won’t be a good one. I can have a plan to find gold but if I spend 20 minutes drawing a map to sewage drains it’s not going to mean much.

There’s no way Calipari is out scouting players to fit a long term system and spending countless hours on it. He’s already told you, he likes being with his dogs.

He’s doing something but it’s not much. Not sure when people are going to wake up. Maybe after another missed tournament or 9 win season. Does that sound like a guy working his *** off?

What did I tell you almost 3 years ago. Calipari isn’t elite anymore we either find a way to get rid of him or it’s going to be worse and he’ll leave us hating him like everyone else. I told you. Here we are.

He’s already setting up for it. You don’t matter, fans don’t matter, the program doesn’t matter. His players matter.

Does that sound like a guy that gives a **** what people think about him when he leaves them high and dry? On top of the fact that he has done this before?

People should be worried, because he’s already told you he doesn’t care what happens to this basketball program.
We’ve been on the same page for a while. Chill

Does Cal have a plan? What the hell kind of question is that? If you don’t think Cal has a plan you must be the dumbest SOB in Kentucky. Anyone that stupid doesn’t deserve to be a Kentucky fan. You are an embarrassment to the BBN.
You know the mike Tyson quote “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth” well that’s cal. St. Peter’s punched us in the mouth and cal knows he has to do something spectacular with sharpe and oscar. Or he wouldn’t have made the comment about recruiting guys back from this team. Cal knows if sharpe bolts he’s finished. There is no replacement for that player and the backlash will be similar to losing in the tournament. The reason he can’t get a guy like Shannon is bc Shannon doesn’t know 100% on sharpe. That’s why the 3 week long hold up of whos going is killing us

Program needs guys like Hopkins to come and have success as multi year guys. Tired of Lexington being a 7 might pit-stop. Program badly needs some consistency and continuity.

No reason why Hopkins shouldn’t be a really good 2nd year player.

What happened that’s making him walk after 1 year?
He’s not willing to wait his turn. Kids today would rather transfer than work.

Or is cal just thinking 2 5* recruits are going to get it done by themselves? If you’re HC you have to know who’s staying or going by now. Is cal on vacation or something? 9 mill a year and we’re letting other teams take all the top transfers. But hey we got sharpe #1 recruit baby!

Gold standard, haven’t seen him. Haven’t seen any one.

god there’s no plan is there.
Cal's plan for his team:

Trade Russel Westbrook. Sign Steph Curry. Get Anthony Davis some new ankles.

I agree,I just hope Shannon waits or what would be better is for Sharpe to just announce and get it over with.Either he and his entourage keep their word and he stays and plays or he does what most expect and bolt...just announce one way or the other.

Cal needs to get on the ball with the late portal entries. I know, it’s stressful.

Runt I need a quick pickup line. I’m in the lobby she’s about to lose interests. What do I say? Text it to me.

No just do it here. Let us all see what you got.

I do have a serious question about Cal's recruiting that I would like answered. If it can be answered.

He used to be all over the place. 3-4 homes/cities in a day at times. Tournaments galore. Out seeing the talent with his own eyes. Now during recruiting, and I understand the use of Zoom, it doesn't seem like he's that same city to city to city in a day Calipari. Now it seems like delegate, delegate, delegate.

Is this true? Or do we just not hear about it anymore? Or is this just a misconception on my part?
Perhaps age?

Jesus if people are taking pictures of him they need to look at their life. Post the pictures if they exist
Gromcat posted them a few days ago. Go ahead and search it yourself, I'm not your servant. Not my fault you don't pay attention but then again, you're so busy bashing people you probably never look up from your keyboard.

Look I’m like a N64 classic game cartridge, we can have fun for hours but every issue can be solved by blowing on it and sticking it back in.

If Cal can’t recruit like he used to, he doesn’t need to be here, period. His saving Grace was that he was a beast on the recruiting trail, certainly not his X&O’s.

I’m halfway checked out. Too many program firsts and not in a good way. Don’t know if I’ll ever get that fire back, doubt Cal will either.

How do you know where he is? You don’t. Just because someone isn’t leaking it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

TF you talking about. Calipari couldn't take a dump somewhere during recruiting periods without everyone posting where he was at. Now we don't see that nearly as often. Are you new to being a UK fan? Eff it. I couldn't care less. I don't usually read your mental midget musings. Who's the jerk who quoted something your ignorant *** said anyways. That person should put themselves in a timeout.

Now Im going to go back to ignoring you. You can kindly go back to your village. They are very concerned.

Ed must be a Cal bot or something. I hope he’s at least on the payroll. All 7k of his posts are stroking Cal and his ego I reckon.

I think Huggins said something similar about Oscar and he seemed to be a pretty hard worker in his time at Kentucky.

I think it is blatantly obvious if you are not a “cal” guy it do any matter how hard you work in a game or what you do in a game, you will always be behind whoever is Cal’s guy.

I like what Musselman is building at ark he’s taking plenty.
Hopkins just left us he’s a top transfer now.
Ttu
Shannon jr trending to Illinois.
Pack looking like Purdue
why are we depending on transfers to begin with?

calipari “ I’m here bc I can recruit the best of the best”

well that’s a lie now.
3 of the top 7 in this class.

PTSD from 2 years ago. There are a few guys about to enter the portal we must have
I remember explicitly last year the panic when Hickman had decommitted. Kentucky did fine after that getting Wheeler, Grady, and Frederick. I don't think they'll have an issue getting high impact players from the portal this year.

2 years ago I still maintain that Sarr was much better than what he showed. His issue was playing with 1 of the worst backcourts in the program history that put him in a bad spot. Put him on this past year's team and I think it's a much different story. I think more the issue 2 years ago were injuries and a highly disappointing freshman class.

I think Calipari realizes the heat on him this offseason, and he'll come through this spring and summer and put together a good roster. He's the kind of guy who I think does best when his back is against the wall.

I'll take the bright side approach here. Either Kentucky has a great year next year and Calipari builds momentum for the end of his career, or with another disappointing year I think he's gone and that will appease many fans with going in a new direction.

I still say there’s that sense in the air something is didn’t this off-season. The only thing I keep coming back to is something is being worked out for Cal to take another job soon.

OT and SS are not returning, just waiting for the official confirmation, Livingston and Wallace are not generational talents, so next season’s team will be one of, if not the least talented teams Cal has had at UK. Payne will take DJW away from Cal etc etc.

It all points to Cal and UK finding the best way to save face. If so, we’ll start to hear the rumors floating soon.

There to many guys like him with the same skillset. We had a lot of guys who want to be 3s but can’t cause they can’t shoot or dribble so they have to play the 4. Livingston, brooks toppin and then you throw in Collins. Even if you assume brooks is gone at best he’s 3rd.

Bryce Hopkins is going to be a very good college player for a team. Just because he left doesn’t mean it’s time to talk **** about him.
His total mins at his natural position, pf, was almost nil. He is going to be a matchup problem when used correctly as a face up 4. Great first step and good passer too.

Not sure about that. I can tell you at the Father/Son camp last year he missed the whole Friday night session due to a last second recruiting trip. I don't know who he was going to see tbh.

I think we hear less now that Justus is gone.

Borzello and others have had us top 10 even without Sharpe and Oscar, without including any transfers. Thanks for your expert opinion though.
Any predictions about a team’s ranking based on a completely unsettled roster is nothing more than a guess. It would seem it’s more based on their faith in the coaching staff getting it done than anything. Maybe they will, who knows.
