Drop Cal, get Muss

If Cal would allow his team to play as loose as Muss allows his team, the sky would be the limit of what Cal could have done at UK. Often times you see Muss celebrating with his players like he is a player. He knows that he has plenty of time to rip a player's head off after the name and not when you need players remain composed and confident. Instead, Cal starts yelling at his players coming out of the locker room and doesn't stop until they get in the shower. Arguing with players coming out of the game as Cal does will only take them out of games mentally which is not what you want.

Muss’ team plays hard on every play. Their guys play loose too. I think Cal puts too much pressure on our players. He actively yells at them all the time.

It makes me wonder if the players even respect him. Muss has his guys playing together. Our talent is leaps and bounds ahead of theirs.

Why would musselman come here tho? They love him in Arkansas. If he had a bad year here you'd be done with him.

The days of getting players just bc your KY or Duke or ending with NIL and just the same exposure.
I disagree. If he had a bad season and didn't act like a jackass, the fans wouldn't immediately turn on him. Cal has always been a very polarizing figure who is often more tolerated than loved even when he is winning. He works very hard on being despised.

Every coach that wins a game the rest of this tournament will get this stupid thread started about them because it's just what this board does, Muss is one of the few who might actually deserve a shot at the job. You're still an idiot to dump Cal right now for him, but if Cal left, he'd be on my list.
Glad you approve!

You got his 40 million buyout OP?

Didn't think so. Cal isn't leaving until he wants to.

He is doing way more with less at Arkansas. Can you imagine how successful he would be to pull the players we get? He would build a dynasty like the world has never seen here.

MITCH….get this done!
Blah, blah, blah. You’re an idiot who doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.

What scares me is that people seem to think of Cal were to leave, we’d reach out to Holtman. That would be a huge mistake. It’s also the type of guy Barnhart would hire.

I get exhausted hearing the "if this coach had the talent that Cal had, omg!"

Arkansas has like 5 seniors, a junior and two sophomores as their main contributors. It's nothing like Cals teams.

Why do people think other coaches can just take freshman (or players brand new to the team) and make it work in just a few months?

This isn't the NBA where talent automatically wins out. In college you either have young but elite talent.. or old but good talent. And it's not as simple as one being better than the other.

A few coaches have tried for the elite talent, K, Cal and Penny.. and none of them have really been making it work lately. Not sure why we think any other coach can do it.
