Once again they choke hard. They better never get a 1 seed again. This was their chance and I think next year will be a big down year for them.
Not black boy day for many other teams in this tournament either.
Last year was Mark Few's best year to win a natty and they got molested in the title game.
It was obvious at the end of the first half that Gonzaga was gassed, and before he fouled out, Holmgren looked like he was about to faint. Arkansas wore them down.
I never thought they were all that, Alabama beat them worse than Arkansas did. Gonzaga struggles against athletic teams, jt was clear. Gonzaga did miss a lot of open shots.
and it probably won’t be their last #1 overall. voters will catch on one of these decades.
I don’t know how any UK fan can make fun of Gonzaga right now. Mark Few has built a solid program at Gonzaga. Before he took over, Gonzaga had only one NCAA tournament win in its history. He has taken them to 7 straight Sweet 16’s. They have made it to the championship game twice in the last 5 tournaments.
Arkansas is no slouch. They did beat UK earlier in the season.
And yet next year, they will be #1 most of the season, because they don't lose during conference play. The pollsters are dipshi*s. They fall for it every year.
I think Gonzaga has had a few strong teams in recent years but this wasn't one of them. After their loss to St. Mary's they should've been knocked off the #1 seed line. They shouldn't have been the #1 overall seed.
People can rag on Mark Few a lot, but I remember when people used to make jokes that Jay Wright couldn't make it out of the second round with a #1 or #2 seed until he won a few national titles and shut them up.

Anyone calling Gonzaga a fraud doesn't know what they're talking about. They're a great team and a great program. All this tells you is, and I'll say it for the 1000th time on this board, it's really really hard to win a title in a one and done tournament.
The Zags have zero titles and have been a 1 seed how many times lately?
6 times. 6 times in the last 10 years they’ve been gifted a 1 seed via a pathetic conference schedule and the sports media lobbying for them.
That's pathetic. Say what you want about Cal if he gets 6 1 seeds in 10 tears he gets it done at least once and I'm not high on Cal right now.
