IF Cal left, who would you want?

Building a dynasty? People have lost their minds on this board. First Oates, then Holtman, now Lloyd. Another flavor of the month. It’s getting comical
What's comical is your constant defense of Cal. Come on man we just went 9-16 and this season we place 3rd in the SEC and get bounced in the first round by 15 seed St. Peters. 15th seed! I'd never even heard of St. Peters before this week and that's maybe the worst loss in our history. Come on man and remove your head from Cal's butt. Don't take a HOF coach for that stuff.

Maybe we could trade Coach Cow, some cash, and a player to be named later to the Lakers for Frank Vogel.

Someone intelligent, honest, innovative, and prepared who puts the program above individuals and himself. Not a carnival barker or a drunken redneck which is half of the coaches we have had in my lifetime. He’s too long in the tooth, but watching and comparing a Sampson coached team to UK is stunning. Not in terms of talent but in preparedness, attention to detail and awareness.

You can’t be rational with people like that guy. He’s so stupid that he criticizes coaches that don’t have even close to the resources that Calipari has at UK. They haven’t had the opportunity to coach rosters loaded with the talent Cal has either.

You’re one of those morons that can’t comprehend that you’re more outrageous then the people you attempt to call out. That’s definitely comical.
Anyone calling for Tommy Lloyd based on one good year is the moron. Seen this movie before. The latest hot name that has a good year and people start wanting them at Kentucky. This board has provided great comic relief for me after the loss yesterday

The comic relief is a supposed hall of fame 9 million dollar a year, Gold Standard coach that can't beat a damn high school team.

People need to get this name out of their head. Brad Stevens is absolutely not leaving a premier NBA franchise where he gets an actual offseason to come to a meat grinder of a college basketball program. He already turned down Indiana at $10 million a year. Successful NBA coaches are not going back to college.
I agree. I’d be shocked if Stevens wanted to come back to college. If we have any chance at him it’s going to be in 2 years at least. He just moved into the president role with the Celtics. They’re playing well this year. I doubt he’s going to get bored of being president of the Boston Celtics after 1 year to come to college.

There's no defense of Cal at this point and you gotta realize people are gonna want to talk about getting someone else even if we know we are chained to Cal for eternity. Anybody acting like no other coach could outdo Cal isn't living in reality. We're tired of losing to be Tennessee we're tired of not winning the SEC and we're tired of losing to Evansville and St. Peters. I thought the Evansville loss couldn't be topped but Cal said "hold my beer there's this 15 seed called St. Peters".

Their are some fans on here that aren’t Kentucky fans, they are Calipari fans. If Cal left the program right now for another one, they would follow him. Whenever he does leave I hope a few on here post somewhere else.

I'm not knocking him for the violations. I don't even think they are violations anymore. I mean he got forced out at given a show cause for them. If he was able to stay at Indiana he would have been very successful there.
It’s all good . I wasn’t sure which way you were going, lol.

Scott Drew and he takes the job in a New York minute are you kidding me
Probably makes 3 million @ Baylor
Will make 7.5 to 8 at UK
Get him now - let’s play modern ball 4 out 1 in with a 4 man who is a triple threat player
I’d take Homer Drew after the last 2 games

Sorry man, I still disagree completely with you… I don’t like how you act like everyone’s dumb for liking other coaches compared to Cal. Degrading coaches that haven’t had the same opportunities Cal has had with our program isn’t good either. Regardless, I don’t think I was right in calling you a moron. I’m man enough to admit when I’m wrong.

More than 100 responses now... And I've seen only four legitimate, realistic options that would come here:

Holtmann, Pope, Lloyd, and Vogel.

How's everyone feeling about that? I'm open to a change... But doesn't inspire a whole lot with the options out there.

Agree. Those are like a time warp backward for the program. Those that think we will do better than Cal with those candidates are clearly off their rocker.

You’re out of your mind. Just because some fans don’t agree with you doesn’t make them Calipari fans only. I’ve been a life long fan and will continue to be as long as I’m alive but I’m not apologizing for not trashing the coach, players or school.

It doesn’t surprise me to see you make a post like that. Their are fans that follow coaches around. Not many do that but that does happen. I’m not sure if you’ll understand that. Your one of the very few that have been crying for months about how Kentucky can’t get a coach to replace Calipari.

Why did you get so offended by that? Lol I’ve never bashed the players or school. So why am I “out of my mind”??? I’d love for you or anyone that agrees with you to tell me where I’m wrong. Hell, what did I say about Cal that hurt your feelings? Look up my posts and tell me where Ive said anything bad about him. I’ve just basically made fun of the weirdos that can’t rationally admit he makes mistakes lol 😂

I'll say it again...no one really wants this job. The same reason duke and unc pass it off in the family

Yeah its the best of everything, but there's no reason any established coach would come. Why would they want to deal with all the noise? The days of well they could get better talent here are over. Besides do you all want high caliber players or 3/4 year guys? It changes all the time.

You can try to get an up and Comer, but if he doesn't produce it 3 years youll want him gone and you all know that.

The problem is we are close to an IU situation here

I make billy donovan and brad stevens say no first. (and i’m pretty sure they would)

then i try scott drew. he’s long overdue for a promotion.

i think scott drew would listen. As much as he’s accomplished at baylor texas is very much and always will be a football state. And baylor somehow still doesn’t have that much of a basketball following.

Nope, not me. I don’t cry just state my opinion like everyone else, it is a message board after all. Btw I hope you’re right and Barnhart does find a coach that’s the right fit when it’s time but I’m not betting on it.

I disagree with this 100 percent. No one would want this job? Lol that’s hilarious. A coach of any major program in any sport has to hear “noise”. You have to have thick skin to be a coach. Coaches would want this job because we are one of the biggest names in mens basketball history. The resources a coach has here are excellent. Why do you think Cal wanted this job so bad?! Lol my goodness some of you on here are crazy.

I understand your doubts with Barnhart. I don’t see Cal leaving anytime soon with that contract so I haven’t really put much thought into who I think the next coach should be.

6 months ago nobody on here had any idea who Tommy Loyd was. And now he should be the replacement for Cal??? Hilarious.

I honestly still didn't. I didn't even know who Arizona new coach was. I don't pay attention to west coast basketball.

Vogel gonna get fired by lakers do seems possible. Not sure why anyone thinks he will win here and as someone said no nba coach is coming here after winning a title with lakeers. He will be fired and go elsewhere and coach 5 years and be fired again and repeat until he retires.

No he's got a point...and this the problem. You all think everything has to be one side or the other. Either you're all in on one thing or that means you totally support some other side.

There's a thing called nuance and varying stances on each subject.

"I like coach A"
I dont
"Well you're a Cal slurper then"

See how ridiculous that sounds
